What I Like About You (7x06 Bachelor Party Dissection)

Blah, blah, blah, proper name, place name, backstory stuff. We tried to talk around it, over it, and under it if you will, but this is exactly what it looks like: a sex scene.

This week Han, Cil, and Rachel dissect the Bachelor Party from Season 7 Episode 6 of 9-1-1 frame by frame — from the not so subtle glances and bitchy comments to the body language and plethora of double entendres.

Eddie's entrance gives off serious Fonzie vibes leading into the hilariously awkward interactions between him and Tommy, who just can't seem to stop trying to mark Buck as their territory. We navigate the subtext of the apparent love triangle, the palpable tension, and the underlying homoeroticism that saturates the scene.

We share our thoughts on the symbolism hidden throughout the night, from the costumes to the food, and how it all ties back to the characters' evolving dynamics. As the drinks flow and the karaoke gets rowdy, we explore the deeper themes of jealousy, love, and the undeniable bond and electric chemistry shared between Buck and Eddie.

The pinnacle of the Bachelor Party is the hotel montage that gives Wade and Logan in the Honda Odyssey a run for its money. We look at the blocking, cinematography, and editing choices that put together what is undeniably a not-so-thinly-veiled sex scene, complete with champagne orgasms.

Pick your poison and get those hangover cures ready because you’re in for a wet, wild, and for some reason feathery ride!

Speaker A:

Have you ever watched something that completely rewired your brain chemistry?

Speaker B:

A procedural network drama might not be your usual pick, but it's ours.

Speaker C:

This is the Buddy System, a 911 deep dive podcast hosted by three friends who have DMed each other enough character dissertations to earn a PhD in media literacy.

Speaker A:

I'm Han, coming to you straight from the characters heads.

Speaker B:

I'm Syl, bringing you to the observation deck.

Speaker C:

And I'm Rachel, connecting the dots with my red string.

Speaker B:

With our powers combined, no stone is.

Speaker C:

Left unturned and no buddy is left behind.

Speaker B:

Oh, boy.

Speaker A:

Welcome to the minisode we have all been waiting for.

Speaker A:

It's the bachelor party, and we're going to do the thing that we did with the kitchen scene in 817, which is just kind of go through the whole thing insanely, like.

Speaker A:

Like, you know, not quite frame by frame because there's not as much to dig into here, but there is.

Speaker A:

There are some things to dig into.

Speaker C:

And there's a lot here, would you say?

Speaker C:

Hmm.

Speaker B:

There's a lot of imagery here.

Speaker C:

And, Han, I see you have dressed for the occasion.

Speaker A:

Oh, my.

Speaker C:

I see you have two.

Speaker A:

Rachel.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

What a coincidence.

Speaker C:

We actually did not plan that.

Speaker B:

Pink.

Speaker B:

Green over here.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

Nobody gave me the memo, so I'm over here.

Speaker C:

I.

Speaker A:

It was a mental memo to myself.

Speaker B:

It's pink up here.

Speaker B:

It is repping Eddie.

Speaker C:

It is pink.

Speaker C:

Pink goes good with green.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

I just don't own pink.

Speaker A:

I'm not a pink person.

Speaker C:

This is like one of the.

Speaker A:

My body is pink.

Speaker A:

I think that's enough representation for the color pink.

Speaker A:

But anyway, we're not here to talk about me or still or Rachel.

Speaker A:

We're here to talk about Eddie in this bachelor party.

Speaker C:

Whatever went down, whatever this was and.

Speaker B:

What we could have had.

Speaker A:

In the marriage slash homoeroticism this was.

Speaker C:

I'm excited.

Speaker C:

We've been waiting to do this for so long.

Speaker B:

How long is this?

Speaker B:

I can't say that, actually.

Speaker A:

Five minutes, technically.

Speaker C:

But, like, I know it's the.

Speaker B:

We're insane.

Speaker A:

We're just kind of focusing on the gay.

Speaker C:

Right?

Speaker A:

Like, we're not here to talk about all of the other implications of relationships between people.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker B:

You mean the people who just show up?

Speaker A:

No, no, I mean, like, because.

Speaker A:

Because, you know, the beginning's here and then everyone's there.

Speaker A:

Like, Karen.

Speaker C:

Oh, no, we're focusing on robbing Eddie.

Speaker A:

Like, and we're not talking about, like, did.

Speaker A:

Did he really want to have a bachelor party thrown for him?

Speaker A:

Oh, no, he's really going through it.

Speaker A:

We don't care what's happening in Chimney right now.

Speaker C:

I mean, we always care, but, like, this is not.

Speaker A:

Not in this episode, we don't.

Speaker C:

We love you, Chimney, but this is not about you right now.

Speaker C:

This is the buddy system.

Speaker A:

So their wedding is about you.

Speaker A:

So Eddie walks in and he's like, hey, okay, Fonzie.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And it's kind of, I don't know, reminiscent of how he does that same pose in 806 where he opens the door again in pink but without pants this time, and is, you know, kind of just.

Speaker A:

He doesn't.

Speaker A:

I don't think he says hey.

Speaker C:

He gives the nod.

Speaker A:

He does.

Speaker C:

He.

Speaker A:

He does the nod.

Speaker C:

You know, like, yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

Which is like the silent A, right?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But like, he shows up, he's like, I'm here.

Speaker A:

We're wearing our couple's costume, we're about to drink.

Speaker A:

I don't have a kid with me.

Speaker A:

This is gonna be great.

Speaker C:

Date night for real.

Speaker C:

Letting loose.

Speaker C:

This diva gonna have fun.

Speaker A:

And Mr.

Speaker A:

Bachelor Party Zilla.

Speaker C:

This is Clipboard Buck.

Speaker A:

Yeah, this is Clipboard Buck.

Speaker A:

This is.

Speaker A:

This is married behavior.

Speaker A:

Because he's like, you're late.

Speaker A:

No one else is there.

Speaker A:

So he's definitely early.

Speaker A:

He's like, ooh, sliders.

Speaker A:

Because they do look delicious.

Speaker A:

And no, no, he gets the.

Speaker A:

The wife.

Speaker A:

Like, no, no, no.

Speaker A:

Not until all our guests are here.

Speaker C:

Just.

Speaker C:

Just because you're here late, which is actually on time, which is actually early, does not mean that you get first dibs at all of.

Speaker C:

All of the sweet treats.

Speaker A:

No, that means you're here to suffer with me as your duty.

Speaker C:

It's basically my life partner.

Speaker C:

Yeah, it's basically dual hosting.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Together.

Speaker A:

Yes, exactly.

Speaker A:

And we did just record the sweet treats and juice episode literally right before this.

Speaker A:

So I don't know, it's kind of a funny haha of him being denied a little treat.

Speaker A:

Eddie's like, okay, right, we can't have the food until Chimney gets here.

Speaker A:

Because that's what his husband tells him.

Speaker A:

He's like, can we at least drink?

Speaker A:

He's like, not the champagne, because he has.

Speaker C:

He has plans.

Speaker C:

He has plans.

Speaker A:

So remember three seconds ago when Eddie was like, hey, laughable to Tommy?

Speaker A:

Well, it's been three seconds.

Speaker A:

And Tommy walked, you know, past him after the high five and.

Speaker A:

And greets his husband and hugs him.

Speaker A:

It's literally like three seconds.

Speaker A:

It's not.

Speaker A:

It's two seconds.

Speaker C:

Just like breezes right on path.

Speaker C:

Uh huh.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And then, and then we get that like, triangular that we talked about in.

Speaker A:

A plot device episode so we won't get too deep into it, but, like, it's literally like a love triangle.

Speaker A:

Blogging.

Speaker A:

And Eddie's in the center looking some type of way.

Speaker B:

Some type of.

Speaker B:

Some type of way.

Speaker A:

He's looking a little.

Speaker A:

A little pissy.

Speaker A:

And he was just, like, super happy to see Tommy three seconds ago.

Speaker C:

He's ready to be.

Speaker B:

He was ready.

Speaker B:

He's preparing his.

Speaker C:

Off the diva off.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

This is like, oh, no, I licked that.

Speaker A:

That's mine.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

I put it in my will.

Speaker A:

That's mine.

Speaker A:

Like, don't touch him.

Speaker C:

Sorry.

Speaker C:

Just the way you said that.

Speaker C:

And coming right off of sweet treats.

Speaker C:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

Oh, well.

Speaker C:

Something, something ring pop.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Something, something ring pop for sure.

Speaker A:

He's very, like.

Speaker B:

It's funny.

Speaker C:

He could.

Speaker C:

He could be like.

Speaker C:

He could.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

I could just, like, picture him actually, like, maybe having a ring pop in his mouth while, you know, when it had that, like, kind of framing.

Speaker B:

It's kind of the same thing.

Speaker C:

Yeah, it is.

Speaker A:

Like, no, it would be like.

Speaker C:

It'd be the same as the waiting room and mask.

Speaker A:

Then once Tommy and Buck separate, we are back up in Eddie's face with the camera, and he's like, I didn't know you could bring a date to a bachelor party in the bitchiest way possible.

Speaker A:

No reason.

Speaker B:

Quickly.

Speaker B:

It kind of.

Speaker B:

The way he kind of says this kind of reminds me of, like, in 809 with the dog.

Speaker B:

And he says, I forgot which line it was.

Speaker A:

But, like, he's like, teaching him everything.

Speaker C:

You know, it's.

Speaker B:

No, it's the one before.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

It could be that one.

Speaker B:

It could be either way.

Speaker B:

Like, his tone is still like, oh, very.

Speaker A:

It's like my new best friend.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Somewhere around there, there's a line that he says that I'm like, oh, I didn't know you could have.

Speaker B:

You can have.

Speaker C:

You can bring a dog.

Speaker B:

I don't.

Speaker B:

Or I didn't know you can have a dog at your.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

Something like that.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

He's like, I know.

Speaker A:

I didn't know.

Speaker A:

Like, I thought you couldn't have dogs at your apartment.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

And he's like, I can't.

Speaker A:

And he's like, well, what are you gonna do?

Speaker A:

And he's like, I guess I'll move.

Speaker A:

Like, if after.

Speaker A:

He's like, you're gonna move or a dog?

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And like, the way that Eddie Is saying this here in, in the bachelor party.

Speaker C:

It's like, I didn't know you could bring a date.

Speaker C:

Like, like the words are.

Speaker C:

Are very like light and teasing, but the face.

Speaker A:

Oh, it's giving.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

It isn't as like light hearted Ellis and like hehehaha as the words that are coming out of the mouth.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker C:

It's a little like, but also kind.

Speaker B:

Of myth or something.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

Like.

Speaker C:

Like there's a dissonance there.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Like, remember how Buck was acting in 704, how the turns have tabled?

Speaker A:

It's kind of.

Speaker A:

It's like the same aura.

Speaker C:

It is.

Speaker B:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

It's like, oh, I was in theory okay with you guys dating, but no, I forgot that that meant that you were actually dating.

Speaker A:

You weren't just like bro friends.

Speaker C:

Now that I am confronted with the reality of it, totally different.

Speaker C:

Right?

Speaker A:

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker C:

And I don't think I'm ready for this.

Speaker A:

So after he's like, I didn't know you could bring a date.

Speaker A:

Tommy's immediately like, I knew chimney before he was chimney.

Speaker A:

And Eddie is like, puts his hands up, like, didn't mean any offense.

Speaker A:

With again, the bitchiest face.

Speaker C:

Yeah, it's like, it's like Tommy's trying to like mark his territory here and he's just like, I don't want to have anything to do with it.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's like, yeah, definitely.

Speaker B:

It's like Tommy's trying to say like, hey, I'm.

Speaker B:

I can also be a part of this too.

Speaker B:

But it's kind of like, it's kind of dubious.

Speaker C:

It's like, really though, you know, were you.

Speaker C:

Were you though?

Speaker C:

Were you really?

Speaker A:

Did you really know him after you've.

Speaker B:

Said so many rude things to him?

Speaker C:

Just because you know and have used someone else's given name as opposed to their earned nickname doesn't mean you've earned a place in the inner circle.

Speaker A:

So interesting that.

Speaker A:

So then Buck says, all reassuring, he's not.

Speaker A:

Tommy's not officially my date until the wedding tomorrow.

Speaker A:

Tonight is about chimney.

Speaker C:

And I love, I love his delivery of that with like the way Buck is speaking with his hands like that.

Speaker C:

Like, this is a rehearsed.

Speaker C:

Tonight is about chimney.

Speaker C:

Tonight is about chimney.

Speaker C:

It's not about me.

Speaker C:

It's like, tonight is about Jimmy.

Speaker C:

And it's like, it's so sweet because he really is doing this because he thinks that Jimny would love it.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

He thinks it'll make him happy.

Speaker A:

He points and he's raised eyebrows like, but his wedding is about you.

Speaker A:

This is just a wild behavior.

Speaker A:

Because it's like, where is this coming from?

Speaker C:

Yeah, I don't have an answer.

Speaker A:

Everything was copacetic 10 seconds ago.

Speaker C:

It's just like a.

Speaker C:

Such a weird, like, switch of an attitude.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker A:

It's literally just like classic jealous friend love triangle trope.

Speaker C:

Yeah, that's.

Speaker A:

That's literally what it is.

Speaker A:

The way that lands on Buck after he's like, it's his weddings about you.

Speaker A:

And Buck's like, what the is happening?

Speaker A:

Like, his face.

Speaker A:

He's so confused.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker C:

And, like.

Speaker C:

Okay, okay, I. I gotta.

Speaker C:

I gotta ask the question.

Speaker C:

Is, was Eddie saying that?

Speaker C:

Because, like, you know, Tommy's or Buck isn't out to everybody yet.

Speaker C:

So, like, him showing up with Tommy as his date would be like, whoa.

Speaker C:

And then, like, what is the point of him saying that?

Speaker A:

I don't think has anything to do with that.

Speaker A:

I don't think he's even thinking about it.

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker B:

Which I think are Eddie.

Speaker A:

Because Eddie, I don't think he's even thinking about it.

Speaker A:

The only reason, like, he.

Speaker A:

He literally said, I didn't know you could bring a date to a bachelor party.

Speaker A:

Because he's literally never thought about it.

Speaker A:

And he.

Speaker A:

I don't think he thought about the possibility of Tommy being there because of all of that heteronormativity up in his brewing.

Speaker C:

Yeah, because.

Speaker C:

Why would you bring a date to a bachelor party?

Speaker C:

Because.

Speaker A:

Because it's a bachelor party.

Speaker A:

It's bo.

Speaker A:

Lonely.

Speaker C:

So you can't bring a date.

Speaker C:

Which is the.

Speaker C:

It's basically the same reaction that Eddie has to Buck coming out to him, where he's like, wait, what?

Speaker A:

Wait, you can do that?

Speaker A:

No, we could do that.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God.

Speaker C:

That's an option.

Speaker A:

So then he, like, begrudgingly points at Tom.

Speaker A:

He's still pointing.

Speaker A:

He lost a point.

Speaker A:

He points at Tom and he's like, you want a drink?

Speaker A:

And Tommy says, orange juice.

Speaker A:

Like, because he's on call.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

On standby.

Speaker A:

Buck still looks so confused in the background about what's happening.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

He's like, I thought we were all friends.

Speaker A:

Why is this so weird?

Speaker A:

He was also staring at this Henley.

Speaker C:

Not a white Henley.

Speaker A:

So it's that his date is wearing, going, like, I told you that, like, this was a theme party.

Speaker A:

What is this?

Speaker A:

So Buck, who put all this effort into planning this party themed for the 80s, which Chimney loves, because all of his favorite movies, all favorite music, all of that shit is the 80s karaoke, all this stuff put so much effort into it.

Speaker A:

And the food, everything.

Speaker A:

And Was just like, hey, it's 80s theme.

Speaker A:

Please show up in like an 80s thing.

Speaker C:

Literally the least he could do.

Speaker A:

He put literally no effort into it.

Speaker A:

He just put on Norma outfit.

Speaker C:

Which is kind of par for the course for their relationship.

Speaker C:

Right?

Speaker C:

Doesn't put in as much effort, just.

Speaker B:

Shows up the fucking red flag.

Speaker B:

I know people thought that like in the beginning, like people thought this was silly.

Speaker A:

Oh, it's like he's got a.

Speaker B:

He's got to go on shift.

Speaker B:

I'm like, no red flag.

Speaker B:

But anyway, I digress because he would.

Speaker A:

Have to change anyway.

Speaker A:

So it's like just.

Speaker C:

But that's.

Speaker B:

Yeah, and that's my point.

Speaker C:

It's like you could have just worn.

Speaker B:

A fucking something anyway.

Speaker C:

Whatever.

Speaker A:

This is not.

Speaker A:

Well, yeah, but it's literally just like the amount of effort put in by the guy that is supposed to be pursuing him romantically, none.

Speaker A:

And then the guy who is just his best bud bro, who literally suggested the matching couple's costume and showed up early to host this bachelor party with.

Speaker C:

Him, putting in more effort than Bug's.

Speaker A:

Actual boyfriend and Tommy's like they were Henley's in the 80s.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker C:

So that's all that.

Speaker A:

That they're not a selling make party city or spirit.

Speaker A:

Halloween is not selling Henley 80s costume.

Speaker A:

It doesn't count.

Speaker B:

But like also like this is definitely a sign.

Speaker B:

Like he does not fit in the 118 because like if chimney had been there, right?

Speaker B:

Like, I feel like he also would have dressed up, like, feel like everyone would have been on theme.

Speaker B:

This man just comes in here, thinks that he's gonna fit in.

Speaker B:

No, you couldn't even get dressed for it.

Speaker C:

So no, he would still stick out like a sore thumb.

Speaker A:

Then he's like, what are you guys supposed to be?

Speaker A:

Wedding singer Bitchy McFitcherson breaks it out again as he hands the orange juice over to Tommy.

Speaker A:

And can I just say, the gayest way possible.

Speaker C:

He really made sure there was going to be zero contact there, right?

Speaker A:

He was like, I do not want to touch you.

Speaker A:

But it also just like had the effect of looking a certain way.

Speaker A:

But yeah, he's.

Speaker A:

He's staring like dead eyed into Tommy's eyes.

Speaker A:

Like wedding singer is 90s you bitch.

Speaker C:

Yeah, like, like his dead eyes, right?

Speaker C:

Yeah, like it's.

Speaker C:

It's because Eddie is like, you know, affronted on Buck's behalf that like, you know, this new guy that he's seeing isn't putting any effort in to even like understand the reference that the two of them are doing, which is Obviously, Crockett and Tubs.

Speaker C:

That's Miami Vice, right?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So Buck is like, crockett and Tubs, Miami Vice as he pets his nice little blazer.

Speaker A:

And Eddie's, like, nodding and smiling for the first time in 30 seconds.

Speaker A:

40.

Speaker A:

30.

Speaker A:

40 seconds.

Speaker A:

We're only 55 seconds into this, guys, because he's like, huh, it was my idea.

Speaker A:

We look great.

Speaker A:

He is plot of himself.

Speaker A:

And then Tommy says, which one's Crockett?

Speaker A:

Because, you know, the famously queer coded.

Speaker C:

Character from Miami Vice.

Speaker A:

This was a trap.

Speaker C:

This was a trap.

Speaker C:

And it's also showing just like Tommy's just, like, unwillingness to.

Speaker C:

To.

Speaker C:

To meet them on their level.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker C:

But the fact that both Eddie and Buck respond with like, oh, I'm.

Speaker C:

Oh, I am.

Speaker C:

I'm Crockett.

Speaker C:

And, like, remind me.

Speaker C:

I'm pretty sure it's Bucks.

Speaker C:

Like, the, like, the style.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker C:

That is actually.

Speaker C:

It's so funny because if this was Eddie's idea and Eddie knows the reference, why would he also say that he's Crockett, the queer coated character?

Speaker A:

Well, first of all, there's subconscious things happening there.

Speaker C:

A lot of them.

Speaker A:

Subconscious things happening there.

Speaker A:

But also, I have a feeling, like, Miami Vice might not be super his thing, and it might just be something that really likes that he knows that Buck likes.

Speaker C:

And that chimney likes it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And that chimney likes.

Speaker A:

So they both say, I am.

Speaker A:

And Buck is looking at Eddie, like, betrayed.

Speaker A:

You're literally not.

Speaker A:

Like, we've had conversations.

Speaker A:

We planned this out.

Speaker A:

And then Tommy's looking at Eddie like, I'm so sure.

Speaker B:

Oh, the recontextualization of.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

The scoff heard around the world.

Speaker C:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker C:

Like.

Speaker C:

Like if.

Speaker C:

If nothing else, like, beforehand, like, solidified it for him.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker C:

This was.

Speaker C:

This was one of those, like, tick under, under, under the box moments.

Speaker A:

Like, look at this whole scene through the lens of him already viewing Eddie as the competition.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I would have left, showed up, seen them in a couple's costume and been like, bye.

Speaker B:

Would not have bothered pursuing that.

Speaker C:

Like, basically getting the third degree by the best friend who you were just so close with, like, the other week.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

You were flying to Vegas, putting in more effort to this friendship than you are your new romantic relationship.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker C:

I'm so sure.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So I don't know, just the look that Buck and Eddie are giving each other, like, after they both are like, I am.

Speaker A:

Or Buck is like, throws his hands up because it feels like they've had this argument, like, already about which one of them is Crockett.

Speaker C:

Because that's a married argument.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Eddie, what is this face?

Speaker C:

It's like, please, just let me have this.

Speaker A:

Just let me be gay.

Speaker B:

And then there's this guy with the side eye.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

He bombastic side.

Speaker C:

Tommy.

Speaker C:

Looking.

Speaker C:

Looking at him like, are you hearing?

Speaker C:

Are you for real right now?

Speaker A:

Like, he's like, you heard him say you.

Speaker A:

You.

Speaker A:

You heard that too, right?

Speaker A:

You're wearing an imagine couples costume and you both think that you're the queer coded character.

Speaker C:

It's.

Speaker C:

It's Tommy being the third wheel in this whole conversation again.

Speaker A:

So Hen and Karen show up and.

Speaker C:

Buck's still looking, like, kind of dejected.

Speaker A:

And I can't tell, are they an 80s outfit?

Speaker C:

I don't know.

Speaker C:

Because, like, Ken and Karen are always so fashionable anyways.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

That they make any.

Speaker A:

And the 80s are kind of back anyway, so it's like, who knows?

Speaker C:

So, like, I don't.

Speaker C:

I can't really tell.

Speaker B:

Listen, everyone else put effort.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

It just.

Speaker A:

Everyone else at least looks nice.

Speaker A:

Like they put effort into it and just wearing like a Henley and jeans.

Speaker C:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

And Karen walk in and then Ravi walks in and he literally grabs a slider and puts his mouth immediately and says, ooh, sliders.

Speaker A:

And Eddie, again with the bitch face on is like, reach for them and you'll be pulling back a bloody stump.

Speaker C:

But nobody gets the exact kind of treatment that.

Speaker A:

No, he's not gonna slap anyone else's hand.

Speaker C:

No, he's special.

Speaker A:

Pen's like, oh, okay.

Speaker A:

I didn't know we were walking into a marital dispute.

Speaker C:

That's exactly what she was thinking.

Speaker C:

So Ravi picks up the slider.

Speaker C:

He obviously did not hear.

Speaker C:

He heed or hear the warning.

Speaker C:

And Buck is livid because things are not going to plan.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker C:

It's a clipboard Buck plan.

Speaker C:

He's like, put that back right now.

Speaker C:

And then it's just like a further away shot of Ravi being like, what?

Speaker A:

Eddie is just looking in between them.

Speaker C:

Drinking his drink, minding his own business.

Speaker C:

Like, I'm.

Speaker A:

He's like, ah.

Speaker A:

The wrath is turned on someone else.

Speaker A:

Thank goodness.

Speaker A:

Then we flash forward.

Speaker A:

Some time has passed.

Speaker A:

Everyone looks bored out of their skulls.

Speaker C:

Because Buck won't let anybody do anything.

Speaker A:

Literally anything, until Jimny gets there.

Speaker A:

So, like, no one's eating, no one's playing a game, having fun, carry.

Speaker A:

Doing karaoke, which is what they're there for.

Speaker A:

It's a karaoke bar, the kind where you can, like, rent, you know, lounge your own rooms.

Speaker A:

And Eddie is just like, trying to entertain himself by tossing food into his Mouth, he's trying to get a hold of Chimney and he can't get a hold of him.

Speaker A:

And hence, like, it's probably because it's your caller id.

Speaker A:

And he's like, let me use your phone and maybe he'll pick up.

Speaker A:

And she's like, no, like, he told you he didn't want to.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And she's like, he told you he didn't want to have this party.

Speaker A:

He's like, what do you mean?

Speaker A:

And then there's a flashback to them on a call, and he's trying to talk Chimney into it.

Speaker A:

And Jimmy's like, I told you I didn't want it.

Speaker A:

And he's like, no, it'll be great.

Speaker A:

And then Jimmy, like, closes the ambulance doors on him and is like, you're giving me a headache.

Speaker A:

And Eddie just ignores all of that that happened and points at him and says.

Speaker A:

She goes, cracking tubs.

Speaker C:

Here's the thing, too, because, like, Buck is so insistent about it.

Speaker C:

Because, I mean, like, it is something that Chimney would love, like, just objectively.

Speaker C:

But the.

Speaker C:

But the fact that, like, Chimney is shutting him down so hard, Eddie decides to not, you know, kind of like, get Buck to see Chimney's perspective on this from his point of view and be like, hey, maybe this isn't something that.

Speaker C:

That Jimney actually wants.

Speaker C:

You know, maybe you can throw him another kind of party another time.

Speaker C:

No, he, like, full supports.

Speaker C:

He, like, hard support.

Speaker A:

It's his partner in crime.

Speaker C:

Yeah, it's his partner in crime.

Speaker C:

And he's also just like, bolstering Buck for.

Speaker C:

Do, like, doing a nice thing for their friend.

Speaker B:

I think about, like, you know how this episode.

Speaker B:

Where this episode is placed because, like, you had 704 where, like, Eddie is.

Speaker B:

Is hanging out with mostly Tommy, and then.

Speaker B:

And then you have in 705 where Buck comes out to him and.

Speaker B:

And I think we all, like, kind.

Speaker A:

Of theorize that this is where he.

Speaker B:

Kind of, like, blows up his life.

Speaker B:

Like the catalyst anyway.

Speaker B:

But.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but it's kind of like now it's like, okay, I.

Speaker B:

It feels like not.

Speaker B:

What's the word I want to use?

Speaker B:

Not.

Speaker B:

Not an olive branch.

Speaker B:

But it's kind of like, okay, I want it like, I want to hang out with you.

Speaker B:

I want to bring you some kind of.

Speaker B:

I hate that I'm going to use.

Speaker C:

The word joy right now.

Speaker B:

Because we just finished recording that episode, so.

Speaker B:

So, yeah, it feels kind of like again.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God, my vocabulary stuck there.

Speaker B:

So, yeah, so he's definitely indulging Buck here.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And, like, Especially coming right off of 705 where buck comes out to him.

Speaker C:

It's like he's making this very concerted effort to.

Speaker C:

To, like, be supportive of anything Buck is doing to show that, like, nothing's changing.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker C:

So he's trying to, like, stay true to his word there, but, like, just.

Speaker A:

Thought of something that I've never thought of before.

Speaker A:

So excited.

Speaker C:

Oh, okay.

Speaker A:

So thank you, Sil, for reminding me that Eddie is in his blowing his life up phase because he's spiraling.

Speaker A:

So I think there's some.

Speaker A:

Some sub, subconscious part of Eddie that, like, from the moment that Buck is like, I can't.

Speaker A:

I can't stop thinking about him is like, oh, my God, I'm losing him.

Speaker A:

It's like, oh, like, I'm kind of losing him.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

Because, like, it's just different.

Speaker A:

Like, it was different.

Speaker A:

Like, Buck was never really jealous of any of the women that Eddie dated.

Speaker A:

But as soon as he started spending all this time with Tommy, it was like, this threatens me.

Speaker A:

And it's kind of like the same thing where, like, Eddie's been jealous, but he hasn't been like, oh, let me blow my life up because you're dating someone.

Speaker C:

Exactly.

Speaker C:

Like, he.

Speaker C:

He hasn't liked some of Buck's other partners, namely, like, Taylor.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker C:

No, but this is different because he did love Tommy.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

So this, this is him going, oh, not only can would he support this anyway, but I really think he's, like, really championing it and coming up with ideas that he normally maybe wouldn't like.

Speaker A:

It would be Buck who's the one suggesting this kind of thing, like the matching costumes and being like, eddie, come on, do it with me.

Speaker A:

And he's like, okay, yeah.

Speaker A:

But instead it's like Eddie is really, like, on par with him.

Speaker C:

Like, gung ho.

Speaker C:

Right?

Speaker A:

And this is him going, oh, this is a thing that I can do with Buck and for Buck that Tommy can't.

Speaker A:

And that is why he's so fucking pissy when Tommy shows up.

Speaker C:

Because he thought it was going to be time, quality time for them together.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Eddie is overcorrecting, right.

Speaker C:

He's compensating for all of the time that he was spending with.

Speaker C:

With Tommy and kind of like putting Buck off to the side.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And.

Speaker C:

And he's.

Speaker C:

He's just overcorrecting and is like, I'm gonna spend every waking moment with you, like, doing something special.

Speaker C:

And it just so interesting all these little factors and ingredients during the.

Speaker C:

So what?

Speaker B:

No, because, like, I think.

Speaker B:

I don't even think we're gonna talk about this because I don't think this is part of the.

Speaker A:

The.

Speaker B:

Because we're talking about just the karaoke scene.

Speaker B:

We're not even talking about, like, the end, you know, when, like, after that Tommy kiss, like, at the hospital, and, like, he comes in with, like, the soot in his face, and basically everyone knows what they were doing.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I think that was, like, the final nail in the coffin because, like, we're talking about, like, how he's over.

Speaker B:

He was overcorrecting.

Speaker B:

He's, like, overcompensating.

Speaker B:

Like, I felt like.

Speaker B:

I think what I was also trying to get at is that he felt bad about, like, hanging out with Tommy for so, you know, for so long.

Speaker B:

And then all of that started to happen, and it's like.

Speaker B:

Yeah, like, kind of like what you said, hand.

Speaker B:

Like that he's losing him now.

Speaker B:

Like, there's evidence to what they're actually doing that he definitely blew up his life with, like, the whole Kim thing.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

That's the next episode.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Whoa.

Speaker C:

I kind of.

Speaker C:

I kind of really do want to re.

Speaker C:

Watch season seven through the lens of what we have seen from season eight.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Like 8 11, specifically.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But yeah, this is Eddie.

Speaker A:

This is Eddie going, oh, my God, Yes.

Speaker A:

Bachelor party.

Speaker A:

Like, Tommy won't be there.

Speaker A:

It'll just be me and Buck and, like, like, I'll remind Buck how I'm the best, and I'll be even better than normal because I'll be, like, suggesting these ideas and you know what I mean?

Speaker A:

Like, I really think that's what he's doing.

Speaker A:

And that is why he's so angry.

Speaker A:

Extra pissy.

Speaker A:

Because he, like, literally didn't think that Tommy would be there because, like, he's a significant other and you can't bring a date tool.

Speaker C:

Exactly.

Speaker C:

You cracked it.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And then, like, season seven as a whole, it's like Eddie losing Buck.

Speaker B:

Losing Christopher.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Wow.

Speaker C:

You're losing me.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

He's spiraling, thinking that he's going to lose Buck, and that causes him to lose Christopher.

Speaker C:

They're always connected, too.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

He's silent in that whole scene up until he's like, we should totally go as Crockett in Tubs.

Speaker A:

And Buck is like, classic Buck Smile.

Speaker A:

Like, absolutely.

Speaker A:

Like, he's so excited.

Speaker A:

He's so pumped.

Speaker A:

And then flashback to present.

Speaker A:

And he's sad, boy.

Speaker A:

Because everyone's leaving.

Speaker A:

So it's so interesting.

Speaker A:

Like, everyone's leaving.

Speaker A:

Like, Ken and currently first.

Speaker A:

And then Robbie leaves and Robbie, like, it's Like, I'll see you tomorrow.

Speaker A:

And, like, Pat's at.

Speaker C:

Pat.

Speaker A:

Buck on the arms.

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker A:

Pan over to Eddie after Robbie touched him.

Speaker A:

And then Tommy goes up to say that he's leaving.

Speaker A:

Like, there's.

Speaker A:

There's a call that he has to go to.

Speaker A:

And Eddie's just mixing his drinks because he's like, oh, Tommy's leaving.

Speaker A:

This is great.

Speaker A:

Having a. I'm having a gay old time, mixing my little fruity drinks, a little potion.

Speaker B:

Just a girl.

Speaker A:

He's literally just a girl.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And, like.

Speaker C:

And it's so funny too, because, like, everybody gets up and leaves and is, like, heading and trailing out the door.

Speaker C:

Eddie doesn't move.

Speaker C:

He is.

Speaker C:

No, he's there.

Speaker C:

He doesn't even think about getting up and leaving because, like, Christopher is over at a friend's house.

Speaker C:

Like, what is.

Speaker C:

Is he gonna do?

Speaker C:

He's gonna do what he came here for and spend his quality time with Buck.

Speaker C:

Right?

Speaker A:

My brain literally just went, I'm with you till the end of the line.

Speaker C:

Wrong, Buck.

Speaker C:

I hate it here.

Speaker A:

No, but, like, sorry.

Speaker A:

So we finally see them eating the sliders now that everyone's gone and Chimney definitely isn't coming.

Speaker A:

And Buck is like, I can't believe that Chimney didn't come to his own bachelor party, like, all dejected.

Speaker A:

And Eddie is like, again, still very bitchy.

Speaker A:

Maybe he meant it when he said.

Speaker C:

He didn't want one.

Speaker C:

And this is, like, the only time, right?

Speaker C:

I think in pretty much this whole scene sequence that Eddie is, like, you know, maybe acknowledging.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Acknowledging the fact that, like, maybe Chimney didn't want one.

Speaker C:

But, like, he's still not going anywhere.

Speaker C:

He's still being supportive of Bug because.

Speaker A:

He wasn't there for Chimney.

Speaker A:

He was there for.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

So then these people start, like, pouring into the room and are like, oh, sorry, wrong room.

Speaker A:

And he is like, wait, wait, you guys want some sliders?

Speaker A:

And Eddie's, like, peeking over, like, who's this?

Speaker A:

Oh, are we actually having a party now?

Speaker A:

And that man is gone.

Speaker C:

Also.

Speaker C:

I love it.

Speaker C:

Also, who.

Speaker C:

Who's talking to my friend who's talking to my bestie?

Speaker A:

He has to vet them.

Speaker C:

He's.

Speaker A:

He's the guard dog.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

Huh?

Speaker A:

The scary dog Privilege.

Speaker A:

It's a dog privilege.

Speaker A:

Okay, so then we get this montage.

Speaker A:

Bear with us as we break this down because we get about one second for each thing that's happening.

Speaker A:

Okay, so lots of drinking commences.

Speaker A:

Karaoke happens.

Speaker A:

Like, Buck and Eddie are up on stage singing Allegedly.

Speaker C:

It.

Speaker C:

It definitely looks like there has Been some time that has passed.

Speaker C:

Like, people have gotten into the food.

Speaker C:

People have gotten into the drinks because they are a little schizy and look.

Speaker A:

A little kind of, like, sweaty for.

Speaker C:

Oh, sorry.

Speaker A:

They've been doing non, non Yiddish among us.

Speaker A:

They're a little moist.

Speaker A:

A little moist and a little.

Speaker C:

Must these just better.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker C:

They're.

Speaker C:

They're.

Speaker C:

They're a little, like, sweaty.

Speaker C:

They're.

Speaker C:

They look a little out of it.

Speaker C:

Like, they've.

Speaker C:

They've partaken in more than a few drinks already, and.

Speaker C:

And everything is just, like, in full swing.

Speaker C:

And there's a lot of people and they don't know anybody, but they're perfectly happy.

Speaker C:

No, because doing whatever.

Speaker A:

They're just there with each other.

Speaker C:

This is quality time.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

They're singing karaoke.

Speaker A:

They're jumping bucks jumping up and down.

Speaker A:

And Eddie is doing that move that we also see again in 806 where he's.

Speaker C:

He's lost his jacket.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

It's just the shirt.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

It's his little rock star move.

Speaker A:

It's cute.

Speaker A:

More drinks being poured, more shots being drank.

Speaker C:

Would you.

Speaker A:

Would you like to come and sit down on top of each other?

Speaker A:

We're just friends.

Speaker A:

Oh, there's a whole couch there.

Speaker A:

No, no, no.

Speaker A:

What if we took these two seats that are completely separate from each other.

Speaker C:

Like the little ottoman just.

Speaker C:

And push them together and we just.

Speaker A:

Put them next to each other and get even closer.

Speaker A:

Each only had one ass cheek.

Speaker C:

Not.

Speaker A:

Running on the chair, and, like, Eddie is leaning completely into Buck and Buck has his arm draped over him.

Speaker A:

Like, they literally could not be closer unless one of them was in the other one's lap, literally straddling.

Speaker A:

Yes, yes.

Speaker A:

More.

Speaker A:

More shots.

Speaker A:

They look so happy.

Speaker A:

They're having a great time.

Speaker A:

Listen, I know it's loud, but, like, it's a karaoke bar and there's like, maybe, what, 20 people in there?

Speaker A:

It's not like they're at, like, a.

Speaker A:

A nightclub where they're like.

Speaker A:

It's basically their own music at, like, you know what I mean?

Speaker A:

But it's not like the.

Speaker A:

The decibels are like you're at a fucking concert where you have to literally get up next to someone's ear for them to hear you.

Speaker A:

They're just at a karaoke bar with their own room.

Speaker A:

Eddie's drinking a bottle.

Speaker C:

Well, he's chasing the shot with a beer.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Which is a choice.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker A:

Buck still has his arm draped around him very possessively.

Speaker A:

It's, like, literally stretched out against, like, in the middle of his chest.

Speaker B:

It's not even like he.

Speaker B:

His shoulder is like, behind his shoulder.

Speaker B:

Like, literally, like, getting closer to his back.

Speaker B:

So he's literally, like, hanging.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And.

Speaker C:

And Eddie's shoulder is, like, in his chest sternum.

Speaker C:

Like.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Like, they really couldn't be closer unless they fused together.

Speaker C:

Huh.

Speaker A:

It's like, at this point, like, that's.

Speaker B:

What were trying to do while they were drunk.

Speaker A:

But anyway, Buck is, like, leaning even closer into his personal space because it's very important that he hears what he has to say.

Speaker A:

This very serious comment.

Speaker A:

What is it again?

Speaker A:

Oh, I can't believe he's missing the best bachelor party of his whole entire life.

Speaker C:

His only best party of his entire life.

Speaker A:

First of all, it would be the only one because Mad needs never breaking up.

Speaker A:

And then second of all, it's.

Speaker A:

He's not.

Speaker A:

It's not the best one of his life because he's not there.

Speaker C:

He's not there.

Speaker A:

That's not how that works.

Speaker C:

You guys have the.

Speaker B:

The quote of the deleted alternate thing that Eddie says about, like, about Maddie actually breaking up so that Buck can.

Speaker A:

Like, throw another bachelor party.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

He's like, well, maybe.

Speaker A:

Maybe they'll break up another one.

Speaker C:

That was the deleted scene.

Speaker B:

I. I think it was just an alternate.

Speaker B:

Maybe it was a deleted scene or.

Speaker B:

Or an alternate, like, thing in the script that they chose not to use.

Speaker C:

Still, any supportive.

Speaker C:

Just being like, you can do another one.

Speaker C:

It's fine.

Speaker C:

It'll be great.

Speaker B:

He really is here for Buck.

Speaker B:

He's really here to support his joy, his happiness.

Speaker C:

So it's just like, peak, like drunk, like, language where it's just like, yeah, Buck is like, you know, you know, Chimney should really be here.

Speaker C:

Like, it's terrible that he's missing this.

Speaker C:

These people love him.

Speaker C:

They don't know who he is.

Speaker C:

They have no idea.

Speaker A:

And then, no, they're just like, oh, free drinks and food.

Speaker A:

Great.

Speaker C:

And then Eddie's just like, they do.

Speaker C:

They really do.

Speaker C:

Just, like, looking around, like, being so happy of, like, where he is and his place in the world right now, which is, you know, right next to Buck, surrounded by strangers, side of thigh.

Speaker A:

Shoulder to shoulder, hand to his tit.

Speaker C:

You know, Eddie says, like, they do.

Speaker C:

They really do.

Speaker C:

They love a Chimney.

Speaker C:

Nobody knows who Jimny is.

Speaker C:

And.

Speaker C:

And Buck, who's just like, trying to be like the best brother in law ever, is like, oh, you know what?

Speaker C:

Maybe if Chimney doesn't come here to the party, we should bring the party to Chimney.

Speaker A:

And Eddie, who looked like he was having an out of body experience and had no idea who he, he was or where or where he was.

Speaker A:

Goes from that to, oh my God, my husband's a genius.

Speaker A:

He's like, we can get an Uber.

Speaker C:

Foreshadowing maybe.

Speaker A:

And then they literally look like they're about to kiss and scream, we're gonna get an Uber.

Speaker C:

It's so funny because in each other's faces.

Speaker C:

Because, yeah, like, the, the eye contact is bonkers, right?

Speaker C:

It's like crazy.

Speaker C:

Like they, they look so out of their mind, right?

Speaker C:

So like, totally wasted.

Speaker C:

And the eye contact continues to be just like.

Speaker C:

That is the only point.

Speaker C:

Other point in the world that like, they're aware of.

Speaker A:

You know, everyone around them was like, oh, they're finally going to get a fucking room.

Speaker A:

Like, thought that, that this was either their own bachelor party that they were throwing or joining back.

Speaker A:

They think they're together.

Speaker A:

Like they're in each other's laps screaming about getting Uber to leave.

Speaker A:

There's literally like, there's no room for Jesus.

Speaker A:

How much space is between them?

Speaker A:

A few inches?

Speaker A:

Six?

Speaker A:

Generously.

Speaker C:

Six, probably six.

Speaker B:

It's still not enough room for Jesus.

Speaker A:

It's not.

Speaker A:

It's not how platonic bros talk.

Speaker A:

Like, even in a club, they're so.

Speaker C:

Close, but this is like right in each other's faces.

Speaker C:

Yelling into each other's faces.

Speaker C:

The eye contact that just like, it's, it's wild.

Speaker B:

It's, you know, we're talking about eye contact now.

Speaker B:

I'm thinking about 818 and their contact and how, like, they're just.

Speaker B:

They're the only ones like.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Right in front of them.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

The only other thing in the world.

Speaker B:

The only other thing in the world.

Speaker B:

The focus.

Speaker A:

Even if there's a rooftop full of your co workers or a karaoke lounge full of strangers, they're the only other person there.

Speaker A:

So then we cut to the hotel and all of these strange people are outside of, like, are they staying with Chimney?

Speaker A:

I actually never understood this.

Speaker C:

I don't know.

Speaker C:

I don't think so.

Speaker C:

Because he would have had the room key otherwise.

Speaker A:

They would have had a key, right?

Speaker B:

Yeah, unless he lost it.

Speaker A:

Oh, I mean, that's possible.

Speaker A:

But like, we'll see.

Speaker A:

But anyway, so like, it's Buck at the door, like, pounding like, chimney, let us in.

Speaker A:

And then all of the people who are at the karaoke bar are like behind him.

Speaker A:

And Eddie must have gotten separated from him somehow, but he's pushing his way through all these women.

Speaker B:

The rainbow.

Speaker A:

The rainbow and there's a rainbow lens.

Speaker C:

Flare right over him, over Eddie's shoulder.

Speaker A:

Just right over him as he.

Speaker A:

As he just looks a like.

Speaker A:

How does Sil say it?

Speaker A:

Like he's his entire world, bro.

Speaker B:

He like gently pushes this woman away.

Speaker A:

He's like, oh, he pushes through all the women.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Like at least one of them.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And they're laughing like, haha.

Speaker A:

These silly gay men.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry, I could not take any serious, Lonnie.

Speaker A:

He's fucking blitzed.

Speaker C:

They both are.

Speaker A:

Look at his face.

Speaker C:

There's nothing going on behind those eyes there.

Speaker C:

So.

Speaker C:

So Buck.

Speaker C:

Buck is saying that.

Speaker C:

That the door's locked.

Speaker C:

They can't get in.

Speaker C:

So he asks if Eddie has a key.

Speaker A:

And the most aggressive shoulder grab in the world.

Speaker A:

So Buck like.

Speaker A:

Buck's like all distraught and like leaning against the wall and he's like, do you have a key?

Speaker A:

And Eddie's like, don't worry, we don't need a key.

Speaker A:

And slams his right hand onto bucks left shoulder.

Speaker A:

Left shoulder where it goes.

Speaker A:

We're firefighters.

Speaker A:

Firefighters.

Speaker A:

And like he says that it is weird sexy voice does it.

Speaker B:

So it does something to my brain.

Speaker C:

Like, why'd you say it like that, bro?

Speaker B:

What are we doing here?

Speaker B:

Honestly, if all those people weren't there and he said this line like that, I would think something else is happening.

Speaker C:

No, that's the thing.

Speaker C:

That's the thing.

Speaker C:

Right?

Speaker C:

The way in which he says that is.

Speaker C:

Is very.

Speaker C:

Just kind of like sultry bedroom.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker C:

That if they were alone and you were just like walking through the hallway happening to overhear that you would think that that would be like they're about to like.

Speaker B:

So yeah, they're about to like bring a door.

Speaker C:

Oh, well, yeah, we need to move like.

Speaker A:

Like, because we're about to be something decent exposure.

Speaker C:

Like, they're obviously like, you know, they have plans for.

Speaker C:

For something else.

Speaker B:

Break down that door and then one of them is going to slam the other one against the wall.

Speaker B:

And then.

Speaker A:

Oh my God.

Speaker B:

Yeah, there you go.

Speaker A:

So I don't know.

Speaker A:

This is just like the gayest shoulder grab.

Speaker A:

I just can't.

Speaker A:

I can't elaborate.

Speaker A:

It's just like the flirty way that he's like, we're firefighters, like, while he's grabbing his shoulder.

Speaker A:

And then the maintained eye contact because they're both staring directly into each other's eyes.

Speaker A:

There's no like, him doing the little dance to like, get him to.

Speaker A:

To make eye contact with him.

Speaker A:

And then, then he.

Speaker A:

He's.

Speaker A:

Eddie's still nodding like he Just had the.

Speaker C:

The best idea in the world.

Speaker C:

Huh?

Speaker C:

Followed.

Speaker A:

He's like, don't worry, babe.

Speaker B:

We can still continue party.

Speaker A:

I'm still gonna kick the door.

Speaker C:

Literally.

Speaker C:

So they cross the threshold right?

Speaker C:

Together.

Speaker C:

They break the door, and they cross the threshold together.

Speaker C:

Buck literally, like, hops from.

Speaker C:

Like, has his shoulders on or has his hands on his shoulders, and likes over and is, like, looking for Jimmy, like, hey, we're here.

Speaker C:

We brought the party to you.

Speaker C:

Jimmy's nowhere to be found.

Speaker A:

They're so sweaty.

Speaker A:

They look like they wearing highlighter.

Speaker A:

First logical thing that Eddie has said all night, actually.

Speaker A:

Where, like, thoughtful, like, normal Eddie.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Because they see.

Speaker C:

They see that Jimmy isn't there.

Speaker C:

His text is still hanging up on the door, and Eddie is like, well, maybe.

Speaker C:

Maybe we should let him sleep because he's getting married.

Speaker C:

Mm.

Speaker C:

Meanwhile, he's looking at the champagne that was delivered to the room.

Speaker C:

So, like.

Speaker A:

Because he wasn't allowed to have the champagne back at the karaoke.

Speaker C:

Exactly.

Speaker C:

So, like, his words are saying one thing, but his.

Speaker C:

Everything else is saying another thing.

Speaker C:

Like, let's not.

Speaker C:

Let's not end this party just yet.

Speaker C:

And the Buck's like, guys, we just gotta keep it down.

Speaker A:

And then there's another montage.

Speaker C:

And this is gonna be another, like, second by second sort of thing.

Speaker A:

All right, the jackets back off of both of them now.

Speaker A:

No jackets.

Speaker C:

They're partying hard.

Speaker C:

They're bouncing.

Speaker C:

They're, like, jumping up and down, dancing.

Speaker C:

Eddie's got another beer.

Speaker C:

They're both looking at each other.

Speaker C:

They are, like, still tethered together.

Speaker A:

It's.

Speaker A:

It's, like, kind.

Speaker A:

It's slow motion, right?

Speaker A:

Because, like, they're drunk.

Speaker C:

Everything's distorted.

Speaker A:

Everything's distorted.

Speaker A:

But they're still just looking at each other.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Everyone is kind of looking at them.

Speaker A:

It's like everyone is like.

Speaker C:

They are the part.

Speaker A:

You know, like when.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

You know when, like, you're at a club and there's, like, the break in the circle for, like, the dancer to, like, do their own little thing.

Speaker A:

It's like that.

Speaker A:

But it's just these two idiots.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Like, the center of attention.

Speaker A:

They don't.

Speaker C:

They're gonna be worse looking like they're having a grand old time partying with these people.

Speaker C:

They don't know.

Speaker C:

Buck is like, okay, so this is interesting.

Speaker A:

But he's shuffling out the cards like it's money.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And.

Speaker C:

And he's already got, like, a stain on his shirt now.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker C:

And Eddie, again, never too far away, is looking on like it's the Greatest thing he is.

Speaker C:

He's holding on to his beer.

Speaker C:

Just like watching this shot.

Speaker B:

How do you.

Speaker B:

How do we explain this?

Speaker C:

Well, it's a.

Speaker C:

It's a close up shot of.

Speaker A:

Of what we have here is a sequence of progressively more phallic imagery.

Speaker A:

Shots of them drinking.

Speaker C:

There's no.

Speaker C:

There's no other way to go about that.

Speaker C:

Like, I'm sorry, it's.

Speaker A:

It's just all very.

Speaker A:

There's lots of innuendo because it's just like close ups of their mouths and them pouring alcohol into it and into each other's mouths.

Speaker A:

That's obscene.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I did not need to see that.

Speaker C:

On a quarter speed.

Speaker C:

So why does.

Speaker C:

Why does.

Speaker B:

That's a lot.

Speaker C:

It takes up the entire frame.

Speaker C:

His face drinking.

Speaker C:

I'm assuming this is whiskey or tequila.

Speaker C:

He's.

Speaker C:

He's moved past.

Speaker C:

Eddie has moved past the.

Speaker C:

The beer and now he's.

Speaker C:

Oh, he is imbibing even more.

Speaker C:

It takes up the full frame.

Speaker C:

And then the immediate next one cuts to his shirt getting ripped.

Speaker C:

Like the sleeves getting ripped off and.

Speaker A:

The button, which we know from a shot that didn't make the final cut, but we did see, because a hero.

Speaker A:

I think someone like one of the crew members.

Speaker A:

Was it Oliver?

Speaker C:

Was Oliver.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it was Oliver.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Posted Buck tearing the shirt, like, finishing the job.

Speaker C:

Yeah, like, it, like, it wasn't necessarily started, but like, he.

Speaker C:

He ripped that sleeve off and then like, tossed it around.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

Yeah, he was like, I won.

Speaker C:

This is like he was at a basketball game, right?

Speaker B:

Yeah, because he's like, behind him.

Speaker C:

He's right behind him.

Speaker C:

He's right behind him.

Speaker C:

Again, never too far away.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry, why did I just get flashbacks?

Speaker A:

Janet Jackson's super bowl where she, like, looks down at her tit.

Speaker A:

That's what he does.

Speaker C:

It's kind of the same thing.

Speaker C:

Okay, anyway, and then it goes from.

Speaker C:

From that we're now to.

Speaker C:

To the shot of both Buck and eddie.

Speaker C:

They've got DJs now and drag queens who were definitely not there at the karaoke.

Speaker C:

No, they just, like, showed up with their DJ stuff apparently.

Speaker C:

And.

Speaker C:

And Buck is like, DJing.

Speaker C:

And Eddie's just like.

Speaker C:

They're being supportive and pointing with his.

Speaker C:

With his sleeves ripped off and the buttons undone.

Speaker C:

Just like.

Speaker C:

Like, yeah, that's my best friend.

Speaker C:

And just like, who are these immaculate drag queens?

Speaker C:

Where did they come from?

Speaker C:

Who invited them?

Speaker C:

Or did they just show story?

Speaker A:

And she.

Speaker C:

They just look like they're having the grandest time.

Speaker C:

They're having so much fun.

Speaker C:

They have Never had this much fun in their entire lives.

Speaker C:

And honestly, I think that's a true statement.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker C:

I'm trying to figure out if that's him or not.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker B:

So I am gonna say that in that next shot of Buck on the couch and someone pouring the beer bottle into his mouth, I actually don't think it's Eddie.

Speaker B:

However, in one of those deleted, like, scenes that they never used that our hero, Oliver Stark, put on his stories after this episode aired.

Speaker B:

There is a.

Speaker B:

There is a.

Speaker B:

There is a part where Eddie is actually pouring it in, but in this particular shot, I don't think it is.

Speaker C:

Yeah, and it's just like a wild shot, too, because it's.

Speaker C:

It's kind of like.

Speaker C:

You know what?

Speaker C:

It's kind of like the visual opposite of the one we just got with Eddie.

Speaker C:

Where that one was come.

Speaker C:

The one from Eddie was kind of like coming from below a little bit, but the one with Buck is coming from above.

Speaker C:

So, like, if you put those shots.

Speaker A:

So interesting.

Speaker A:

If you stack those on top of each other.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It said, we're just reporting the news.

Speaker A:

Listen, we didn't make this up.

Speaker C:

They're the ones that chose to have these shots.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Huh?

Speaker C:

Not us.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

No, it.

Speaker A:

Dance his hand.

Speaker C:

No, it's not.

Speaker C:

But just like.

Speaker C:

No, that's so weird.

Speaker C:

Hold on.

Speaker C:

That's so weird.

Speaker C:

That's so weird because the shot with.

Speaker C:

With Buck getting the.

Speaker C:

The liquor pour down his throat, and he's just, like, shaking his head back and forth, back and forth.

Speaker C:

Cut to Eddie shaking his head back and forth, back and forth, doing his little, like, dancing.

Speaker A:

And again, a shot that, like, he's above him.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Anyway.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

Eddie.

Speaker C:

Eddie is, like, swishing it around in his mouth.

Speaker C:

So it's like, you're.

Speaker C:

You're.

Speaker A:

My God.

Speaker A:

There's no way to talk about this series.

Speaker C:

You're filling a Buck mouth, and Eddie's is only full.

Speaker A:

Rachel.

Speaker C:

Is that not.

Speaker A:

I. I mean, I'm.

Speaker A:

Okay, listen, I don't know if you.

Speaker C:

Remember from when we.

Speaker A:

What episode is it?

Speaker A:

Is it Mary Xmas?

Speaker C:

I don't know what.

Speaker A:

Mary Xmas.

Speaker A:

Where are they sitting at the fountain.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's the thing where they're sitting at the fountain.

Speaker A:

And there's an interview that we talked about with Tim, my near.

Speaker A:

Good old Tim, who talked about how the visual metaphor of the fountain in the back was on purpose.

Speaker C:

It's like a little.

Speaker C:

Little cheeky mischievousness.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So super interesting to have this entire little montage here of them pouring alcohol into their own Mouths having alcohol poured into their mouths.

Speaker A:

One of them's above, one of them's below.

Speaker A:

They're swishing.

Speaker A:

Her mouths are going back and forth.

Speaker A:

Their faces.

Speaker A:

And then at the very end, you could say at the climax of all.

Speaker C:

Of those shots, you know, are.

Speaker C:

Is culminating.

Speaker A:

Popping the champagne in the classic way.

Speaker A:

They both have bottles of them.

Speaker C:

That's the thing.

Speaker C:

That's the thing.

Speaker C:

It's both of them popping the champagne bottles, shaking it up so it goes everywhere and it works.

Speaker B:

Actually, I was gonna say, so it.

Speaker C:

Can shoot out, explode.

Speaker A:

What word do we want to use?

Speaker A:

I have no words that aren't simultaneous orgasms.

Speaker B:

No champagne bottles can orgasm.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker C:

No, that's.

Speaker C:

That's actually the thing because, like Buck said at the very beginning, like, don't touch the champagne.

Speaker C:

Like, that is something you have to wait for.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker A:

Done.

Speaker C:

I'm just reporting the news.

Speaker A:

Okay, Listen, we're all reporting Hot take.

Speaker A:

Future me.

Speaker A:

You might cut this based on how Sol and Rachel received this hot take.

Speaker A:

I'm okay with not having them actually singing if it means that we got this part.

Speaker A:

Like, if we had to say everything that happens after they're at the karaoke bar or them singing.

Speaker A:

I love this montage.

Speaker C:

I. I've.

Speaker C:

You go.

Speaker A:

Because it would literally be 10 seconds of them singing.

Speaker A:

Maybe.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

No, I mean, I. I've lit.

Speaker B:

I. I was okay with.

Speaker B:

I was okay without the karaoke scene.

Speaker B:

Like, the actual, like, singing thing.

Speaker B:

And I like what we got.

Speaker B:

Especially when you.

Speaker B:

When we're, like, doing, like, what we're doing right now, which is, like, going frame by frame by frame by frame and, like, actually seeing all of this very phallic imagery.

Speaker C:

Like.

Speaker B:

Like, there was intention.

Speaker B:

There was some really crazy intention here.

Speaker C:

No, that's.

Speaker C:

That's exactly it.

Speaker C:

I Like this montage is so great.

Speaker C:

And I. I will use that as our.

Speaker C:

As our payment in lieu of karaoke scene.

Speaker C:

Because with this montage, everything is so intentional, every shot, even though these are so fast.

Speaker C:

Seconds long.

Speaker C:

Like a second long.

Speaker C:

For so many of these things, the editor, like the cinematographers.

Speaker C:

The editors had to decide.

Speaker C:

The directors had to decide to put them together and in what order?

Speaker C:

Specific order.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker A:

So they had to.

Speaker C:

Which is telling a narrative.

Speaker A:

It's not just that.

Speaker A:

It's that they had to block and direct them this way, too.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Where it's like, okay, you tear his shirt off.

Speaker A:

Okay, you pour alcohol into his mouth.

Speaker A:

Okay, we're gonna get a shot from below here and a shot from above.

Speaker A:

It's all of the Levels that went into playing out this very specific little montage here because.

Speaker C:

Because it was thought out beforehand, too, which makes it even better because, like, I'm sure there are some little, like, bits and bobs that.

Speaker C:

That were found in the editing process.

Speaker C:

You know, that happens sometimes.

Speaker C:

But, like, the fact that they got all of these shots just, like, in general, for them to be able to use and put together in a narrative montage like this, which is very suggestive, which has a lot of innuendo.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Like, that is so purposeful that, like, I'm fine with it.

Speaker A:

I can't remember the specific quote from Tim, but I remember him talking about this in an interview after it came out that, like, they achieved in just the couple seconds of the karaoke scene, like, what he wanted to accomplish and, like, you know, that he had other things that he wanted to have on screen during that scene, basically, that, like, to tell the story that he wanted to tell, so.

Speaker C:

And, like, I don't know.

Speaker A:

Take from that, but you will.

Speaker C:

And, like, honestly, I totally just, like, as an aside, I totally understand why they cut so much of the karaoke party down because this episode was about Chimney and Maddie and.

Speaker C:

And so, like, that makes absolute sense.

Speaker C:

This is just, like.

Speaker C:

This is just pure, like, for the audience.

Speaker C:

This is for us.

Speaker C:

This is for us.

Speaker C:

And this was for Tim, like.

Speaker A:

Yeah, this is Tim and fan service.

Speaker C:

Exactly.

Speaker C:

Tim service, if you will.

Speaker C:

So.

Speaker C:

So the fact that, like, they even included this much is.

Speaker C:

Is kind of a gift that I don't think should be overlooked.

Speaker C:

Even though, like, we don't get any of the singing, which.

Speaker C:

Which, you know, will always.

Speaker C:

We'll always be a little sad about.

Speaker C:

But, like, looking at this frame by frame is wild because they did it so intentionally.

Speaker A:

And he did go out of his way, I think, during season seven, to make sure there was a buddy scene in.

Speaker C:

In every episode.

Speaker A:

Every episode that they were both in.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And I think he kind of did.

Speaker B:

It well, except for the Contagion arc.

Speaker B:

I was gonna say.

Speaker C:

He.

Speaker B:

He did it in eight, too.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Yeah, he did.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker A:

But intentionality, folks.

Speaker A:

This is crazy.

Speaker A:

Did we talk about the morning after?

Speaker C:

It's just wild.

Speaker C:

Like, they end.

Speaker C:

They end the night with two champagne bottles like, that they were.

Speaker C:

That they were waiting to open up and that they're opening up together and.

Speaker C:

Yeah, so it's just like, the fact that that's happening together in tandem as well.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Oh, with the champagne coming out of both of the bottles.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

All over the place.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker B:

They're messy.

Speaker C:

Not the other thing anymore.

Speaker C:

I need to stop.

Speaker C:

The brain's going to a bad place.

Speaker A:

How are we supposed to talk about this any other way?

Speaker A:

I literally don't know.

Speaker C:

Like, okay, here's my question to.

Speaker C:

To the crew, the cast and the crew.

Speaker C:

How.

Speaker C:

How are we supposed to take this any other way?

Speaker C:

Because you did this on purpose.

Speaker C:

Please let me know.

Speaker C:

Let us know.

Speaker C:

Enlighten us, because there is no other explanation other than what we just said.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

It's gay.

Speaker C:

It's very homoerotic.

Speaker C:

It's very suggestive.

Speaker C:

It's so.

Speaker C:

So Buck is waking up the morning after on the floor covered in.

Speaker A:

In feathers, and he's wearing assorted things.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

He's wearing the bathrobe.

Speaker C:

He's still dressed.

Speaker A:

He's still wearing his shoes, his pants and his shirt.

Speaker A:

They're filthy.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But he has a bathroom on top of it.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And.

Speaker C:

And if we look in the background, I think the.

Speaker C:

The sofa over there, it is, like, singed because we see at some point, like, his pants are singed too.

Speaker A:

But, like, how much did they have to pay?

Speaker A:

And damages?

Speaker C:

Do you think this is one of the reasons why they have such terrible credit?

Speaker B:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker B:

The both of them.

Speaker A:

Oh, chimney made them pay for it.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

And he's just, like, taking stock of, I think, himself.

Speaker A:

And he's yelling for Eddie at this.

Speaker C:

Point, is taking stock of, like, the room, which is absolutely trash.

Speaker C:

Nobody else is there, you know, not even some hangers on.

Speaker C:

And the only other living thing, as far as we know, in the room is Eddie with his, like, his fiddle legs lying in the bathtub with his legs hanging over the edge, not moving.

Speaker C:

So I think Buck is also thinking, like, oh, my God, did I.

Speaker C:

Did I, like, did any alcohol poisoning?

Speaker A:

Is he dead?

Speaker C:

He's not moving.

Speaker C:

And then he just, like, pops up like a little daisy looking as the.

Speaker A:

Only thing left of his shirt is the collar.

Speaker A:

Just like btw.

Speaker A:

But his shoes and his pants still on.

Speaker C:

It's giving very Chippendale, not gonna lie.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker B:

100%.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

Nope, you sat up too fast.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

If.

Speaker C:

This always reminds me of a scene in Sense8 where Lido is drunk in the empty hot tub.

Speaker C:

It's giving the same vibe.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

With the.

Speaker C:

With the flip flop.

Speaker C:

Like, Hernando.

Speaker C:

I lost my flip flop.

Speaker C:

It's giving the same thing that's spray paint on the ceiling.

Speaker B:

It looks that they use the feathers because, like, there's some stuff in his.

Speaker A:

Hair, you know, like the white.

Speaker A:

Yeah, because what else were they gonna.

Speaker C:

Do.

Speaker A:

Just feathers in both of their hair.

Speaker A:

Interesting.

Speaker C:

Yep.

Speaker C:

This is insane.

Speaker C:

Actually.

Speaker A:

Eddie is fighting for his life.

Speaker C:

Oh, absolutely.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So just like, I mean, put it in perspective that like Buck has been drunk so many times that like he has built up a tolerance.

Speaker A:

Oh, I don't think Eddie has been drunk many times or partied a lot.

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker C:

Because he wouldn't.

Speaker A:

Would he have had the opportunity?

Speaker C:

He's always been.

Speaker C:

And he's always.

Speaker B:

Whenever he drinks.

Speaker B:

Yeah, Yeah.

Speaker B:

I. I guess the only time he will drink is with Buck.

Speaker B:

And then like you get that they.

Speaker A:

Are just having a couple beers.

Speaker B:

Unless they're playing quarters.

Speaker A:

Get it?

Speaker A:

Well, yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

But we've never seen that.

Speaker C:

I think there's something to be said though, when Eddie does indulge it, it's around Buck because that's where he feels like safe.

Speaker C:

Safe and like taking care of.

Speaker A:

Comfortable.

Speaker C:

Comfortable enough to.

Speaker A:

He doesn't have to let go.

Speaker A:

Have all the masks on.

Speaker C:

Exactly.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And.

Speaker C:

And who has probably done this a number of times in his 20s.

Speaker C:

It has a better handle on it.

Speaker C:

And.

Speaker C:

And that's why he's able to, you know, you know, kind of like come to a little faster.

Speaker C:

And Eddie's just like, oh, he is.

Speaker C:

He is fighting.

Speaker C:

He is fighting for his life.

Speaker C:

He.

Speaker C:

He was like choices were made, but he's soldiering on.

Speaker A:

He is being there for his husband.

Speaker C:

They finally like look into the.

Speaker C:

The room thinking that they would find chimney.

Speaker C:

Which I don't know how they thought that because if he slept through everything that just happened, like you gotta be sleeping like, like the dead.

Speaker C:

But.

Speaker C:

And there's just nothing there.

Speaker C:

But can I just say it's something really, really funny about them coming off of the bachelor party and everything like that.

Speaker C:

And then just like both of them like Scooby Doo looking into the like.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

The door frame into a room with the one bed.

Speaker A:

A really tiny bed too.

Speaker A:

That was like a double.

Speaker A:

A double bed.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Which is so weird because that was like a giant suite.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So you'd think it'd be like a king or a queen at the very least.

Speaker A:

So interesting.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Anyways, just thought I would point that out.

Speaker B:

So a couple of follow up questions.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

What the.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker B:

Because like Pen.

Speaker B:

Pen is the first one that sees them after this.

Speaker B:

What was running through her mind.

Speaker B:

And then Maddie, that would be the second person.

Speaker C:

But like, especially with what Hen and Karen like say to each other later in the hospital, like, oh, it's about time.

Speaker C:

She was absolutely thinking a certain, certain something.

Speaker B:

It makes you wonder like how Long.

Speaker B:

Like she's had money on Buck.

Speaker B:

How long?

Speaker B:

She's had money on eddie, too, with Mr. Oh, I don't like the date.

Speaker A:

Feels like I have to perform.

Speaker C:

You know, it's been years for both of them.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And she's discussed that with Karen at length.

Speaker C:

What happened to you?

Speaker A:

What did you guys do?

Speaker B:

Oh, a lot.

Speaker C:

I think also, if she asked the question, she does not want to know the answer.

Speaker C:

So she just doesn't ask the question?

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

No, because she's like, you know what?

Speaker C:

It's probably better.

Speaker C:

I don't know.

Speaker C:

I just need to know enough to recoup the.

Speaker C:

My bet.

Speaker C:

Yeah, well, I guess not.

Speaker B:

Maddie.

Speaker B:

Maddie's too preoccupied with.

Speaker B:

Well, she's.

Speaker B:

She's got a whole wedding going on, and then.

Speaker B:

Then she's got a missing husband.

Speaker B:

And then it's just like, okay, I can't.

Speaker B:

I have to file this information for later.

Speaker B:

And then there's the whole.

Speaker B:

So do we think they kissed?

Speaker C:

Well, you know, my opinion or my.

Speaker A:

Delusion or my hopes, because there's obviously.

Speaker B:

Something that happened between the climax and them waking up separately.

Speaker B:

Now, this guy has a bathrobe on.

Speaker B:

The other guy has zero shirt.

Speaker C:

There are feathers everywhere.

Speaker B:

He somehow managed to get into the tub.

Speaker B:

I don't.

Speaker A:

There was at least a pillow fight.

Speaker A:

Yeah, and I'm just saying if, like, I don't know, they were getting really aggressive because they're both really competitive, and then they wound up on the ground, one of them on top of the other one wouldn't be shocking.

Speaker B:

Look, like, I. Buck on the floor does not surprise me.

Speaker B:

Eddie in the bathtub.

Speaker B:

Like, how'd you get in there?

Speaker B:

Because you were either.

Speaker B:

Like, either you were pushed in there, you tripped, and you fell in there.

Speaker B:

How'd you get in there?

Speaker B:

You could have also wound up on the floor.

Speaker B:

Were you pushed?

Speaker B:

What happened?

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

Maybe there's something there.

Speaker B:

Maybe there's nothing.

Speaker A:

I feel like he was hiding there.

Speaker A:

He was like, this is a fortress.

Speaker C:

Like, taking cover or something.

Speaker C:

Oh, you know what?

Speaker C:

Like, with.

Speaker C:

With the couch that was singed, maybe.

Speaker C:

And I have a feeling maybe that was something like something caught on fire and.

Speaker C:

And they were taking it out with the pillow.

Speaker C:

So, like, the.

Speaker C:

The feathers came out and he.

Speaker C:

And.

Speaker C:

And Eddie, who was like, oh, don't worry.

Speaker C:

We're firefighters.

Speaker C:

To cover.

Speaker C:

Literally, like, duck and cover.

Speaker C:

Because, like, I can't do without right now.

Speaker C:

I don't know.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker C:

Food.

Speaker C:

First off, I just think it would.

Speaker A:

Be a nice treat if like, maybe we got a flashback to them having a moment they don't even have to kiss.

Speaker A:

Just, like, having a.

Speaker A:

A charged moment.

Speaker C:

There's a lot that you can do with that fanfiction gap there.

Speaker C:

Because again, there was more that transpired after the.

Speaker B:

The end.

Speaker C:

The champagne popping.

Speaker C:

So.

Speaker C:

Which could be foreshadowing.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker C:

It's definitely a metaphor.

Speaker A:

I mean, it's definitely foreshadowing for.

Speaker A:

For something eventually.

Speaker A:

Whether it's foreshadowing of a flashback of something that happened, probably not.

Speaker A:

But foreshadowing of that being their future.

Speaker A:

Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker C:

We can't tag anybody in this episode.

Speaker A:

No, actually tag Oliver and everything.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

He's gonna be like this the entire time.

Speaker B:

This is for you, Oliver.

Speaker A:

If we did this last year, we.

Speaker B:

Wouldn'T have all the lore and recontextualization that we've got.

Speaker C:

We don't ask for it, we don't seek it out.

Speaker C:

It just falls into our lap and we're just like, okay, well, let's incorporate this.

Speaker A:

And I'm just saying, if you look back at this whole thing with the lens of season eight, but specifically 8 11.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Where Tommy saw Eddie's competition the entire time.

Speaker B:

Wild.

Speaker A:

And how Buck subconsciously already has feelings already.

Speaker A:

I want to sleep with everyone I'm in love with.

Speaker B:

I guess not.

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker C:

Can't believe those words came out of his mouth.

Speaker C:

Like, you actually know what you just said.

Speaker B:

No, he doesn't.

Speaker B:

He's still in denial.

Speaker C:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It's not just a river in Egypt.

Speaker A:

Anyway.

Speaker A:

This is one of those scenes for all time.

Speaker C:

It never gets old.

Speaker A:

It doesn't.

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker A:

It's so much fun.

Speaker A:

Also, kids, if you haven't put that.

Speaker A:

Put that entire thing on quarter speed and just.

Speaker C:

What?

Speaker A:

Enjoy yourself.

Speaker B:

I should put every single buddy scene in core on quarter speed.

Speaker B:

I think you'll.

Speaker C:

The micro expressions.

Speaker B:

The micro expressions, all the things, especially these montages.

Speaker B:

But, like, I feel like you'll enjoy your.

Speaker B:

It'll enhance your buddy scene.

Speaker C:

I just.

Speaker A:

I. I know it's what we're doing from now on.

Speaker B:

I mean, that's why I go frame by frame.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But no, I like.

Speaker A:

But I like it because I don't have to, like, you know, like, erroring over, like, cosplay, because I can just press play and then I'm like, yes.

Speaker C:

I just.

Speaker C:

I just cannot get over that montage with those 1 second clips being just like.

Speaker C:

Like that.

Speaker C:

That consecutive sequence.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Of them.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker B:

It was a sex scene.

Speaker C:

I know.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker A:

It's a sex scene.

Speaker A:

With champagne orgasms at the end of it.

Speaker C:

When I say I can't believe that, I mean, I absolutely believe that that's what they're doing.

Speaker C:

I just, like, can't believe that.

Speaker C:

That, like, past standards and practices.

Speaker A:

They get a lot past.

Speaker C:

They do.

Speaker C:

They're very.

Speaker A:

They're very smart.

Speaker C:

They're very smart.

Speaker C:

They're very subtle for, like, things that, you know, if we.

Speaker C:

If.

Speaker C:

For people who aren't watching it at quarter speed would not necessarily pick up on it.

Speaker A:

Well, I think especially for, like, anything that's kind of queer or, like, you know, the heteronormative shit, like, doubles aren't.

Speaker A:

Aren't picking up on it.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker A:

Like the ring thing in the.

Speaker A:

With the ring cutter.

Speaker A:

Like, they were not picking up on that.

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker A:

What else do you have a ring cutter for?

Speaker C:

This is the same thing.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

I just want to, like, know some of the conversations about, like, planning all.

Speaker A:

Of this and putting it together.

Speaker C:

Like, regarding, like, the editing process of.

Speaker C:

Oh, no, it should be this shot and the shot, then the shot.

Speaker A:

Can someone remind me what episode it is from season seven where Eddie asks Buck to talk to his kid about.

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker A:

Is this first episode.

Speaker B:

You mean the one where he has the extinguisher?

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

701.

Speaker A:

701.

Speaker C:

701.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker A:

So interesting.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So anyway, in 701, yeah.

Speaker A:

There's a scene that's, like, almost foreshadowing.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

It's literally foreshadowing for this because he's literally, like.

Speaker A:

In only one case is their underlying sexual tension.

Speaker A:

So, like, if you look at Tommy and you look at Eddie, and I'm just saying one of them kissed, and one of them.

Speaker C:

Meanwhile, he says that, like, holding the extinguishing hose, and it's the same thing as the champagne and looking at Eddie.

Speaker A:

While he does it.

Speaker B:

You know, when we had the Summer of Buck Fidelity, this really.

Speaker B:

This really was bug fidelity.

Speaker B:

Well, I guess it wasn't his official.

Speaker C:

Boyfriend yet, but, I mean.

Speaker A:

No, but Eddie was seeing their soul.

Speaker A:

I mean, he starts doing whatever in the next episode anyway.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker A:

My God.

Speaker A:

My God, these two are so messy.

Speaker B:

So messy in so many ways.

Speaker C:

There's so much to read into here.

Speaker A:

I hope we did it insane.

Speaker A:

I really.

Speaker A:

I can't wait to go back and, like, do Buddy.

Speaker C:

More scenes like this.

Speaker A:

More scenes.

Speaker A:

Well, and look at.

Speaker A:

Looking at season seven and eight specifically.

Speaker A:

Or, like, they're.

Speaker A:

Eddie's queer coding and the buddy stuff.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Together.

Speaker A:

Because I feel like there's so much foundations laid starting in seven that just Keep building.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Like, we haven't even seen all of it come to fruition yet, but it's there.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

And I know that we've noticed it, but, like, it's like looking back on it now again, just lying in wait, watching 8 is, like, crazy.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

It's kind of like how people are saying ever since they switched to the new network, season seven is kind of like their.

Speaker B:

Their season one, and it's the foundation or the beginning or the ground, like the small bits of seeds and, you know, like, just the groundwork for Buddy.

Speaker B:

And then we get, like, season eight is actually, like, season two, and we get more hints and so on, and I'm sure we're going to get more and more.

Speaker A:

So season nine's going to be goated.

Speaker B:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

Because it's like the new season three.

Speaker B:

It's gotta be.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

I mean.

Speaker C:

I mean, really, when you.

Speaker A:

Season three is their best season.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

When.

Speaker C:

When you think about it, season seven was.

Speaker C:

If it's like the season one for ABC, it's putting a lot of that 10 episodes, that subtext in there.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker C:

And then eight was bringing that subtext to the surface for the GA viewership.

Speaker C:

Right.

Speaker C:

So then nine is just going to be building off of that in a.

Speaker C:

In more obvious ways.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

So they really are, like, building that foundation where it's like, okay, that was.

Speaker C:

That was under the surface.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker C:

We brought it to the surface.

Speaker C:

Now we're going to really, like, build it up.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

As evidenced by what we just witnessed.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker C:

Which is something.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Anyway, I can't talk around all the sexual innuendo anymore.

Speaker A:

Who knows if this video will be allowed to be monetized on YouTube?

Speaker A:

We're not monetized yet, but once we are.

Speaker A:

Well, I don't know.

Speaker C:

It's okay if this one isn't.

Speaker C:

I think it's fine.

Speaker A:

It's okay if this one isn't.

Speaker A:

It's fine.

Speaker A:

We did the best we could with the material we were given, which was a sex scene.

Speaker C:

We're talking about it academically.

Speaker C:

We are.

Speaker C:

That's our fair use.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Academic.

Speaker A:

Well, it's not that it's not fair use.

Speaker A:

They.

Speaker A:

You can't monetize things.

Speaker A:

That's like heavy sexual.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

I mean, we.

Speaker C:

We are looking at it academically, as academically as we can.

Speaker A:

Like, academically, these two are gonna.

Speaker C:

Well, if that is the conclusion we come to academically, who's to say?

Speaker C:

Who's to say?

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker A:

Well, hey, listen, this is actually.

Speaker B:

This is.

Speaker C:

This.

Speaker B:

This is basically kind of like my college class which was lgbtqa.

Speaker B:

In literature?

Speaker B:

No, in Spanish literature.

Speaker B:

That's the Latin American.

Speaker B:

I think it was like Latin America something.

Speaker B:

But like I, that's.

Speaker B:

I took a class on that.

Speaker C:

So that was.

Speaker B:

We had to do this basically, which was what we just did, which was go through a team, talk about it, imagery, all that stuff.

Speaker B:

Queer coding.

Speaker A:

So I love that.

Speaker C:

See, this was just Karaoke Party 101.

Speaker A:

Oh God.

Speaker A:

May we have more scenes like this to dissect in the future?

Speaker B:

Yep.
