Transcript
Speaker A:

Have you ever watched something that completely rewired your brain chemistry?

Speaker B:

A procedural network drama might not be your usual pick, but it's ours.

Speaker C:

This is the Buddy System, a 911 deep dive podcast hosted by three friends who have DMed each other enough character dissertations to earn a PhD in media literacy.

Speaker A:

I'm Han, coming to you straight from the characters heads.

Speaker B:

I'm Syl, bringing you to the observation deck.

Speaker C:

And I'm Rachel, connecting the dots with my red string.

Speaker A:

With our powers combined, no stone is.

Speaker C:

Left unturned and no buddy is left behind.

Speaker A:

So, hello, welcome.

Speaker A:

Happy birthday to me.

Speaker A:

Yay.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker C:

At least let us say happy birthday to you.

Speaker C:

Happy birthday hand.

Speaker A:

This is the first of what we're starting.

Speaker A:

A tradition now is we get to pick what we want to do for our episode, for our birthday episode.

Speaker A:

So this one's mine.

Speaker A:

My birthday is the 6th, and I think this comes out a couple days before.

Speaker A:

I don't know how time works.

Speaker B:

Not in the podcast world.

Speaker A:

Three days.

Speaker A:

Three days before.

Speaker A:

This is the first of the minisodes that are coming out this month.

Speaker A:

We have three of them.

Speaker C:

I think time will tell.

Speaker A:

Time will tell.

Speaker C:

We'll see again the mystery of time.

Speaker A:

But since I got to pick, I wanted to talk about, like, some songs, some soundtrack choices that we'll never see on the show.

Speaker A:

But, like, they should do.

Speaker A:

They should listen to us because we.

Speaker A:

We have excellent taste and great ideas.

Speaker A:

So specifically, talk about, like, individual feelings realizations.

Speaker A:

So, like, bucks and Eddies.

Speaker A:

Maybe a first kiss.

Speaker A:

Maybe a first bouncica.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker A:

That's why I labeled it in my section.

Speaker B:

Maybe a purse.

Speaker C:

I.

Speaker C:

I wasn't given.

Speaker C:

I wasn't given those extra topics.

Speaker A:

Yes, you were.

Speaker C:

I was given three.

Speaker A:

I mean, you were in the conversation when I said.

Speaker C:

Anyway, in the conversation.

Speaker A:

Also, Sil added one that's just gonna be her.

Speaker A:

Unless I think of something off the top of my head for their wedding montage.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

We'll discuss it.

Speaker B:

Yeah, we'll talk about it when we get there.

Speaker A:

Anyway, we'll probably do more episodes like this in the future because we take this, unfortunately, too seriously.

Speaker A:

If you've listened to the torture poets department episodes, you know, but this is not a Taylor Swift episode.

Speaker A:

We on purchase tried to not do all Taylor Swift.

Speaker A:

I think I only have one that I'm actually saying to.

Speaker C:

I only have one.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker C:

Proud of us.

Speaker C:

It was tempting.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

To do all, like, all of them Taylor Swift songs.

Speaker C:

And I was like, I'm gonna try to not.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God.

Speaker C:

What?

Speaker B:

No, go ahead.

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

Well, it's because I.

Speaker B:

I'm.

Speaker B:

I keep going back and forth in my head right now, so, like.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you have until we get there to decide.

Speaker B:

Well, it's the first one.

Speaker B:

Oh, well, Yeah, I also want to just mention both.

Speaker B:

I'll just mention both.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Yeah, just in typical.

Speaker C:

In typical buddy system fashion, we can't decide and have too much to say.

Speaker C:

Imagine that.

Speaker C:

Wow.

Speaker A:

I made rules and then didn't follow them.

Speaker A:

I'll.

Speaker A:

I'll hold for everyone's shocked responses.

Speaker B:

I try to follow the rules.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, I tried and whittle it down, but.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And then I had to make a special edition because I'm like, I'm not gonna do Eddie without putting a Spanish song in there, so.

Speaker A:

No, you had to.

Speaker B:

Yeah, that's what kind of had to.

Speaker C:

So tell me a little bit about.

Speaker C:

Because I think we came at all of this from, like, three slightly different perspectives.

Speaker C:

So how.

Speaker C:

How did you guys, like, kind of choose.

Speaker A:

I'm an insane person.

Speaker A:

So, like, when I'm choosing songs for anything, like, to put on a playlist or to, like, title or episodes, I'm looking at the lyrics.

Speaker A:

The majority of them are all of them.

Speaker A:

For it to make sense, because I'm a lyric bitch.

Speaker A:

That's what, like, yes, the vibe and the sound of the song is important, but, like, the lyrics are the most important.

Speaker A:

So I looked at that number one, number two, that it made sense for the character, and number three, on a lesser part.

Speaker A:

But I was thinking in the back of my mind, would this be a song that they would actually play on the show?

Speaker B:

So, see, that's.

Speaker B:

That's interesting, because I had to let go of that.

Speaker B:

So I know you and Rachel both.

Speaker A:

Did, but unfortunately, because of how my brain works, I couldn't.

Speaker C:

So you had to, like, triple Venn diagram.

Speaker A:

It did.

Speaker A:

So that's why I have.

Speaker A:

I have more than one answer for some of these.

Speaker A:

So, like, I'll give you what I think should be the true answer and then, like, what they could play because out of, like, the kind of stuff that they have played.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So, like, for example, one of the reasons why I didn't want to use any Taylor Swift song is because I don't think they.

Speaker A:

I don't think they're gonna do it.

Speaker C:

No, they're not.

Speaker B:

One, because money.

Speaker B:

And two, I just don't think it.

Speaker B:

I mean, vibes.

Speaker B:

I don't think it would fit.

Speaker B:

I don't think.

Speaker A:

So there's one, and we're gonna talk about it later.

Speaker A:

But there's one.

Speaker A:

There's one.

Speaker A:

If we're only.

Speaker A:

If we're gonna use one Taylor Swift song ever in the show, I'm here for the agenda.

Speaker A:

There's a specific.

Speaker A:

There's a specific moment in a specific song, and that's all I ask for.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker A:

But anyway, how did you guys come at it?

Speaker B:

Yeah, so I think the way I came at it was also kind of like, lyrically, but I also think about.

Speaker B:

I do think about vibes, and then I also think of the vibe of the song.

Speaker B:

And then I also think about, like, how I would.

Speaker B:

I think I think about it as an editor, like, as a video editor.

Speaker B:

So, like, I just have to go with the lyrics or listen to lyrics and then imagine the moment in my head and then try to like the story you see.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Like, playing out.

Speaker B:

But the thing is, a lot of it is, like, what has already been played out in our screens.

Speaker B:

So it's also kind of hard to imagine.

Speaker B:

That was my problem going forward because.

Speaker A:

I kept going, this is a great song.

Speaker A:

And then I was like, but this is an edit song.

Speaker A:

Not specifically, like a soundtrack song.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And my other thing, because again, I.

Speaker B:

I had so much trouble with this because again, I don't like for feelings realization.

Speaker B:

I don't see like a.

Speaker B:

Like a song with lyrics playing.

Speaker B:

I see.

Speaker B:

Whatever.

Speaker B:

I don't.

Speaker B:

Who does the music on the show.

Speaker B:

Who has music credit for that?

Speaker B:

Because I actually don't know that we've.

Speaker C:

Quite ever talked about that much yet.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

Okay, so here's.

Speaker C:

We can.

Speaker B:

Well, whoever it is, we'll find that out.

Speaker B:

So here's my little tidbit.

Speaker B:

So I was thinking about.

Speaker B:

I think I was rewatching 704, like the.

Speaker B:

But Tommy Kiss.

Speaker B:

And I don't think that the background music that they use, like, they've ever used before.

Speaker B:

I feel like it was custom made.

Speaker A:

So, like, that's just like a composition.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

Like, it's instrumental, probably nine.

Speaker C:

Originally composed for 91 1.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And that's what I mean.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

That's what I feel like would realistically happen, that they would just have like, background instrumental.

Speaker B:

Original instrumental, originally composed by.

Speaker B:

For 911.

Speaker B:

So that's also why it was hard for me because, like, I don't really put too much thought into what licensed music they can actually use.

Speaker B:

So that's why.

Speaker B:

But yeah.

Speaker C:

Anyway, Rachel, that's interesting.

Speaker C:

No, I like hearing about how you guys come at it.

Speaker C:

I'm just showing up this evening with vibes, pure vibes.

Speaker C:

I chose these when I was, like, half awake.

Speaker C:

And I think it's interesting because I think I think about music a little differently.

Speaker C:

Like, I think I attach to the sound.

Speaker C:

I connect with it sonically first, and then the lyrics come secondarily.

Speaker C:

So for all of these, they're all kind of, like, in the same playlist that I.

Speaker C:

That I have that, like, makes me feel a certain way because they sound a certain way.

Speaker C:

And I think the best way to sum it up is in the wise words of Harry Styles.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

Is this not all sparkly by music?

Speaker A:

I knew exactly what you were gonna say.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Is this not all sparkly by music?

Speaker C:

So, like, I think that's it.

Speaker C:

It's like, it's.

Speaker C:

It's sparkly in my.

Speaker C:

In my head.

Speaker C:

So, like, I look at the lyrics as kind of like, just something to bolster it, I guess, but.

Speaker C:

But I'm not, like.

Speaker C:

It doesn't have to be, like, perfect matches or anything.

Speaker C:

I can be just, like, lines here and there for.

Speaker C:

For, like, most of it, I'm like, okay, yeah, I can make that work.

Speaker C:

But I think.

Speaker C:

I think for me, it's mostly, like, the vibe of.

Speaker C:

Of the sound, or at least that's what it was today.

Speaker A:

I think it is what it is most of the time.

Speaker A:

Because when we're picking songs for the episode titles, you're like, this.

Speaker A:

And I'm like, no.

Speaker A:

I'm like, what about this makes sense for this episode?

Speaker A:

And you're like, vibes.

Speaker A:

Or like, the title of the song.

Speaker A:

And I'm like, no.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker C:

So I think.

Speaker C:

I think that's how I approach it.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

Full.

Speaker B:

Full, like, disclaimer.

Speaker B:

My choices will probably change.

Speaker B:

These are not set in stone.

Speaker A:

Do not hold us to these.

Speaker A:

You can't hold me to anything.

Speaker A:

I'm a cancer.

Speaker A:

My mind changes all the time.

Speaker A:

That's a Gemini.

Speaker A:

Like, what are you.

Speaker B:

Hello.

Speaker B:

I have a Gemini moon.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

No, we're not.

Speaker A:

We're consistent on some things, but, like, we'll be like, sure, these are good.

Speaker A:

But sometimes we'll be like, but this one might be better.

Speaker A:

Who knows?

Speaker C:

That's why I'm saying, like, this is just what I decided upon.

Speaker B:

Today it's like, tomorrow it'll be a different song.

Speaker B:

Next day it'll be a different song.

Speaker C:

Or I'll think.

Speaker C:

Think of something that it'll be like, oh, that's perfect.

Speaker A:

Some of these.

Speaker A:

I'll get it.

Speaker A:

We'll get into the lyrics for.

Speaker A:

I have more than one option for almost everything, so I won't really get into the lyrics for some of them because, like, I don't want to take too much time.

Speaker A:

Also, I feel like most of these songs you guys will know and if not, you should listen to them anyway.

Speaker A:

Should we get started?

Speaker C:

We should put out a playlist with.

Speaker C:

With all the songs that we talk about and link that we can.

Speaker A:

Yeah, we also have a buddy playlist that is just my buddy playlist and I put it on our buddy system Spotify.

Speaker C:

All of mine are just going to be really basic ads.

Speaker A:

That's okay.

Speaker A:

There's basic.

Speaker A:

There's.

Speaker A:

I have basic songs on there too.

Speaker A:

It's not all.

Speaker C:

I'm in my pop girly era, so, like, you're always.

Speaker A:

As opposed to when said with all.

Speaker B:

The love of my heart, but I said it nice.

Speaker B:

I have a sorry taste.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker C:

But nothing from, like, the big band and swing was going to work for today.

Speaker A:

I'm so sorry.

Speaker A:

The way the hipster in me pops the fuck out.

Speaker C:

It's okay.

Speaker C:

But I was like, nothing from, like, big band and swing is going to, like, connect.

Speaker C:

And I would really have to go through my classic rock.

Speaker A:

I didn't even think about.

Speaker A:

Well, actually, I do have one classic rock song for much later because I.

Speaker C:

Know I could find some, but I was just like, there's too many here.

Speaker C:

And most of the classic rock ones for me are more destiel, so I'd.

Speaker A:

Have to, like, think about it.

Speaker A:

That's the hard thing, too, is, like, already having some good songs, like, so attached to other characters or ships in my head that it's hard to talk about that.

Speaker A:

Apply other characters to.

Speaker C:

Yeah, it.

Speaker C:

It's really interesting you said that, actually, because I was flipping through a lot of my songs and.

Speaker C:

And the ones that I was like, oh, this would be really good for something.

Speaker C:

Something.

Speaker C:

I realized those songs were already used in, like, a movie or a TV show for that kind of moment.

Speaker C:

And I was like, well, that's better.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

But I was like, oh, that's why it stands out to me because I think I have, like.

Speaker C:

It's the vibe.

Speaker A:

I had to take a song off of here that they already used in the show.

Speaker C:

They use songs multiple times.

Speaker B:

Which one?

Speaker A:

When the Party's over.

Speaker B:

Oh.

Speaker A:

By Billie Eilish.

Speaker A:

Yeah, they already.

Speaker C:

Oh, I mean, that's such a good one.

Speaker A:

It's such a good one.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker A:

And we already talked about it on an episode, so.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Anyway, let's get started and we'll start with Buck.

Speaker B:

Yeah, of course.

Speaker B:

Because of course we're all we're all.

Speaker A:

About him for now.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker B:

So who wants to get started?

Speaker B:

All right, so Rachel keeps saying she's a basic of the group, but I think I'm pretty basic bitching today because I picked Taylor Swift songs.

Speaker B:

And I'll give you an honorary mention to someone else that's not a Taylor Swift.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

So anyway.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker B:

That I just ran through that whole sentence like, anyway.

Speaker C:

One breath.

Speaker B:

My first pick was this Love by Taylor Swift.

Speaker B:

And then my second pick was Gold Rush by Taylor Swift.

Speaker B:

And then my honorary mention goes to Love Me Anyway by Chapel Rowan.

Speaker C:

Yes, I was looking at those.

Speaker B:

Wait, did we say this was for feelings realization?

Speaker B:

Did we already say that?

Speaker A:

Oh, yes, this is for a Buck.

Speaker A:

Feelings realization.

Speaker A:

I did say for Buck, but yeah, this is for a Buck.

Speaker A:

Feelings Realization.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So this is specifically for a realization.

Speaker B:

I mean, the three songs that I did pick, like, I don't think they really go into, like, a realization moment, but I think the way I thought about this particular category is, like, the feelings that they are feeling about the other person.

Speaker B:

So, like, I think, and I think I mainly am going to talk about this love unless I get inspired in the middle of all this.

Speaker B:

Anyway, so the reason why I picked this love was basically, like, how it talks about the love that they have for the other person.

Speaker B:

Like, how it can be different.

Speaker B:

It could be like night or day, good or bad, how it can be alive and dead, how they had to let it go.

Speaker B:

But it.

Speaker B:

But it all came back.

Speaker B:

So, like, I think about, like, how especially this past season.

Speaker B:

I know, I know we're supposed to be talking about realization, but this is.

Speaker B:

This is where it got really hard for me.

Speaker C:

However you interpret, but especially with this.

Speaker B:

Season, you know, Buck had to let Eddie go to Texas and all of that.

Speaker B:

But at the end, Eddie came back.

Speaker B:

He came back and he also stayed.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And lately, like, we've been seeing, like, you know, their relationship isn't always, like, happy, isn't always going to be in that, like, better place.

Speaker B:

There's going to be trials for them and tribulations and tribulations for the both of them.

Speaker B:

But I think, like, they make it through and I feel like Buck going to realize, like, even after everything, like, they're always going to stick together and.

Speaker B:

And, you know, all of that.

Speaker B:

And verse two was really funny because, like, so this is where my editor brain came in.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

So it says, like, I want the.

Speaker B:

Vision the tossing and turning Struggle through the night with someone new.

Speaker B:

Made me think about 8 11.

Speaker C:

Yep.

Speaker B:

And then further down goes like flickered in my mind Only you But you were gone, gone, gone.

Speaker A:

I was like.

Speaker B:

Wow, I could have done something for this.

Speaker B:

But I obviously I'm so busy still.

Speaker A:

And I make the best edits you've ever seen.

Speaker A:

In our heads.

Speaker B:

In our heads.

Speaker B:

And that's where we're going to stay for the time being.

Speaker A:

Oh God.

Speaker C:

Award winning again.

Speaker B:

So like I'm trying to like figure out how to end this really.

Speaker B:

But just listen to the song.

Speaker A:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's very self explanatory.

Speaker A:

Yeah, no, it's a good fit.

Speaker A:

I really like Gold Rush too, to be honest with you.

Speaker A:

Because that's Gold Rush.

Speaker A:

That's such, that's.

Speaker A:

I mean, well, such a Buck.

Speaker A:

If you remember, that's Buck's album for me because he is in his evermore era and yeah, that's.

Speaker A:

Yeah, he's even doing that subconsciously right now.

Speaker C:

Oh yeah.

Speaker A:

Like he has been for years actually.

Speaker C:

Oh my God, I love that song.

Speaker C:

For her Buck.

Speaker C:

Just in general, like, I mean just.

Speaker B:

Just in the chorus alone.

Speaker B:

Because I don't like the Gold Rush.

Speaker B:

I don't anticipate I don't like the anticipation My face in a red flush I don't like that.

Speaker B:

That anyone could die Would die to feel your touch Everybody wants you yeah, it's the bridge.

Speaker B:

You know what it's giving but it's also giving.

Speaker B:

It gives like they're meeting like 201 buck.

Speaker B:

So like he's just sitting there.

Speaker A:

He's like.

Speaker B:

He knows like this.

Speaker B:

Like everyone wants him.

Speaker B:

But I also.

Speaker B:

I'm just like he's.

Speaker B:

He's a jealous guy.

Speaker B:

He doesn't want anyone to be.

Speaker B:

He doesn't want anyone to get his.

Speaker B:

His.

Speaker B:

Eddie.

Speaker C:

What are these feelings so sudden and.

Speaker A:

New Be on the bridge.

Speaker A:

That's like what must it be like to grow up that beautiful with your hair falling into place like Domino's.

Speaker A:

My mind turns your life into folklore.

Speaker A:

I can't dare to dream about it any like about you anymore.

Speaker B:

So bothered.

Speaker A:

Oh good.

Speaker B:

It's so good.

Speaker C:

Yeah, actually it's so funny.

Speaker C:

I think Sil.

Speaker C:

I think you tweeted or retweeted.

Speaker C:

It was a gif of like eddie's eyes from 811 when.

Speaker C:

When Buck is telling him about.

Speaker C:

Oh yeah, you know, I did it for you.

Speaker C:

And, And Eddie has that like facial expression that can't get enough of.

Speaker A:

When.

Speaker C:

When I saw you retweet that, what did I say?

Speaker B:

I said two different things, I'm sure.

Speaker C:

Oh, I don't.

Speaker C:

I don't Remember?

Speaker C:

But, like, I looked at that gif, and all that was playing in my head was Gold Rush.

Speaker C:

Oh, but it was, like, from Eddie's pov.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, I think it is, but.

Speaker B:

It can be both.

Speaker A:

I think, like, oh, my God, the rest of the bridge.

Speaker A:

What is it like?

Speaker A:

On a coastal town we wandered around but never seen a love as pure as it.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker A:

And then it fades into the gray of my day Old tea.

Speaker A:

Because it will never be.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

That's such a great song for them.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker C:

Like, they can almost reach it, but it's still a little out of reach.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And it's kind of like.

Speaker B:

It's kind of like when you think about how Buck answered, like, Maddie's like, well, are you.

Speaker B:

It wouldn't be so crazy.

Speaker B:

Like, he could still.

Speaker B:

Even if he does realize, he'll still be like, it can't happen because he's straight.

Speaker C:

It'll never be.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

That's a great transition into my joke song.

Speaker A:

If we're done.

Speaker A:

Sure.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I'm done.

Speaker B:

I'm done.

Speaker A:

This song is not a serious suggestion.

Speaker A:

It just came on my playlist, and I started hysterically laughing.

Speaker A:

Wish you were gay by Billie Eilish.

Speaker B:

Is it Billy's realization that he still.

Speaker A:

Thinks that he's straight?

Speaker B:

Yeah, like, come on.

Speaker A:

I just want to make you feel okay, but all you do is look the other way.

Speaker A:

I can't tell you how much I wish I didn't want to stay.

Speaker A:

I just kind of wish you were gay.

Speaker C:

I mean, it's right there on the tin, you know?

Speaker A:

Anyway, that's my joke suggestion.

Speaker C:

No, I love that, actually.

Speaker A:

Then I have.

Speaker A:

These are really depressing ones.

Speaker A:

Another a serious Billie Eilish suggestion.

Speaker A:

Haley's Comet, which is off of her newest album.

Speaker A:

No, it's not:

Speaker C:

We're in:

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker B:

I think it's the golden blonde hair.

Speaker A:

Yeah, this was the, like, the James Bond era.

Speaker C:

Oh, happier than ever, isn't that.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Happier than ever.

Speaker B:

Is the album okay.

Speaker A:

Happier than ever is a very good song for them, too, but not what I was going for.

Speaker A:

It's really depressing, so.

Speaker A:

Sorry.

Speaker C:

Oh, I could totally see that.

Speaker C:

Like, yeah.

Speaker C:

Maddie's room.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Or something.

Speaker A:

Okay, so the lyrics, you guys.

Speaker A:

So the.

Speaker A:

The lyrics that I think really make it a good choice.

Speaker A:

I'm coming at it as, like, Buck is having his realization without knowing that Eddie's gay and definitely not knowing that Eddie has feelings, too.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

So it's very much.

Speaker A:

Oh, I.

Speaker A:

This is bad.

Speaker A:

This is Bad.

Speaker A:

So it starts out talking about, like, how I don't want to want you, but in my dreams, if I'm honest, like, you've been quite a few.

Speaker A:

And then it says you're all it takes for me to break a promise.

Speaker A:

Silly me to fall in love with you.

Speaker A:

Like, stupid me to fall in love with my straight best friend.

Speaker A:

So, Renter, my sleepless nights are better with you than nights could ever be alone.

Speaker A:

I think that's very self explanatory.

Speaker A:

I've been loved before, but right now in this moment, I feel more and more like I was made for you.

Speaker A:

Like, once he has this realization, it's going to be so rough.

Speaker C:

Like, like things will click into place.

Speaker A:

Things will click into place and he's going to be like, oh, I'm never going to have it.

Speaker A:

I'm never going to have what I want.

Speaker A:

Not just I'm never going to have Eddie, but I'm never going to love anyone.

Speaker C:

Never going to get over it, Never.

Speaker A:

Going to get over it.

Speaker A:

And I'm never.

Speaker A:

Like, it was like I was made for him, but like, he wasn't made for me.

Speaker A:

He wasn't made for me.

Speaker A:

And then the outro is, I'm sitting in my brother's room.

Speaker A:

So he's sitting in Maddie's house.

Speaker A:

Haven't slept in a week or two.

Speaker A:

I think I might have fallen in love.

Speaker A:

What am I to do?

Speaker A:

So I just think it's so perfect because it's so melancholic.

Speaker A:

Like, oh my God.

Speaker C:

Existential crisis spiral.

Speaker A:

Yes, quintessentially, yes, 100%.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I get that.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

And then I have a song that I think fits the vibe musically and lyrically for just Buck's personality.

Speaker A:

It's kind of the same vibes.

Speaker A:

Whereas, like, oh, fuck, this is terrible.

Speaker A:

This is bad.

Speaker A:

And I don't think anyone.

Speaker A:

And if anyone who's listening has heard this song, I love you so much.

Speaker A:

And what's it like being an elder millennial because it's 15 years old.

Speaker A:

It's by Jenny Owen Youngs.

Speaker A:

I don't know if you know who that is.

Speaker A:

She did a prolific cover of Hot In Here by Nelly, which might be what you know her from, but she has this song called Fuck Was I.

Speaker B:

Called what?

Speaker A:

Fuck Was I.

Speaker C:

Incredible.

Speaker C:

Actually.

Speaker A:

Tell me that's not the perfect song.

Speaker B:

That's.

Speaker B:

I'm concerned.

Speaker B:

It's concerning.

Speaker C:

It's concerning.

Speaker A:

Listen, if you were 18 to mid 20s in the early aughts and you were an unrequited love, the song was Going platinum in your room.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker A:

It was not just me.

Speaker C:

Oh, my God.

Speaker C:

No, that's totally giving Buck alone in the house.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

I've gotta gotta say the lyrics now, for some people, basically, the song is about being an unrequited love.

Speaker A:

It's about to be an unrequited love.

Speaker A:

But, like, at the ending, it's like, you know that I've got what you want, so it's like, I'd be good for you, but, like, this is not good.

Speaker A:

I should not be feeling this because the visuals.

Speaker A:

Love is growing in her like a tumor.

Speaker A:

Like a parasite wants to devour its host.

Speaker A:

Like, she's trying to develop a sense of humor about it because, like, her heart is in his hands, right?

Speaker A:

She's like, till I can laugh about, like, my heart in your teeth, my face beneath your feet.

Speaker A:

She's got away with words.

Speaker A:

The chorus is.

Speaker A:

Is literally just talking about, like, skill on the stove.

Speaker A:

It's a temptation, which is just like a visual.

Speaker A:

And it's a metaphor because it's like, love is very tempting, but, like, you get burned, and even though you've been burned again, you still keep doing it.

Speaker A:

You can't stop yourself from doing it.

Speaker A:

And then she just says, what the fuck was I thinking?

Speaker A:

About, like, 40 times in this song.

Speaker A:

That's the chorus.

Speaker A:

The second verse is about, like, love is just kind of like tearing through them like a bulldozer.

Speaker A:

And there's always a big mess left over because, like, they say stuff that they shouldn't and they do stuff that they shouldn't because of it.

Speaker A:

For me, the kicker is verse three.

Speaker C:

Yeah, that's a good one.

Speaker A:

She says love tears me up like a demon Opens the wounds and then fills them with lead.

Speaker A:

Which again, striking visual.

Speaker A:

Having some trouble just breathing.

Speaker A:

If we weren't such good friends I think that I'd hate you if we weren't such good friends I'd wish you were dead.

Speaker A:

Oh, the bridge is talking about how love is embarrassing.

Speaker A:

She's awkward and feels uncomfortable because of it.

Speaker A:

And, like, she's running out of places to hide it.

Speaker A:

It's like the love is, like, overflowing out of her, but she's trying so hard to, like, suppress it.

Speaker A:

Anyway, I think it's perfect.

Speaker A:

I don't think they'll ever.

Speaker A:

First of all, it's old as, so I think there's zero chance that it will happen.

Speaker A:

But if you see an edit from me after he actually has his feelings realization to the song, do not be shocked.

Speaker A:

Do not be shocked.

Speaker C:

You can Link to this episode I can.

Speaker A:

So true.

Speaker C:

Inspired by me.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Not me.

Speaker A:

You.

Speaker C:

Credit myself.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Honorable mention that I think they would actually use Do I Want to Know by the Arctic Monkeys.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Say more things.

Speaker A:

Do I want to know if this feeling flows both ways?

Speaker A:

Sad to see you go Was sort of hoping that you'd stay we both know that nights were mainly made for saying things you can't say Tomorrow day and of course it's crawling back to you Ever thought of calling when you've had a few?

Speaker A:

Just 8, 11 maybe I'm too busy being yours to fall for somebody new like that.

Speaker A:

Literally the whole vibe of the song, but, like, the instrumental of it is very reminiscent of, like, stuff that they've used for Buck in recent seasons.

Speaker A:

So it is something that I feel like very much possibly use Recollita.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

Pulling up to the Starbucks late with vibes.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker C:

I haven't even gotten the Starbucks yet.

Speaker C:

Anyways, listen, this isn't even the embarrassing one.

Speaker C:

Not that any of them are embarrassing, but I don't know.

Speaker C:

I'm just like, is this good enough?

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker C:

So for.

Speaker C:

For, like, Buck's realization, I chose Start of Time by Gabrielle Applin.

Speaker B:

I thought they were gonna say something else.

Speaker B:

I'm sorry.

Speaker B:

I thought it was Harry Styles.

Speaker A:

There were, like, three Harry Styles songs.

Speaker A:

I was certain she was gonna choose.

Speaker C:

I was thinking about Falling.

Speaker C:

I was thinking about Fine Line.

Speaker C:

I think I found this from, like, Teen Wolf.

Speaker C:

It's old, but it stuck with me.

Speaker B:

I'd like to see an edit to it.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's a good song for it.

Speaker C:

reached way back from, like,:

Speaker C:

Anyway, so mine was older.

Speaker A:

True:

Speaker B:

Oh, my God.

Speaker C:

Mine is attached to Teen Wolf.

Speaker C:

So, like, cringy, whatever cringe is dead.

Speaker C:

Anyways, so the Start of Time by Gabriel Applin.

Speaker C:

Again, it's.

Speaker C:

It's a lot of, like, how the song feels for me.

Speaker C:

The.

Speaker C:

The song is basically about, you know, in the first couple verse, first couple verses, it's like, today I'm just a drop of water I'm running down a mountainside Come tomorrow I'll be in the ocean.

Speaker C:

The second verse is, I'm an atom in a sea of nothing Looking for another to combine maybe we could be the start of something Be together at the start of time.

Speaker C:

And then the chorus is, There's a ghost upon the moor tonight now it's in our house, but when you walked into the room just then, it's like the sun came out.

Speaker C:

And then There's.

Speaker C:

There's like a breakdown or a bridge where it's like the sun came out and the day is clear.

Speaker C:

My voice is just a whisper louder than the screams you hear.

Speaker C:

It's like the sun came out.

Speaker C:

And it, like, repeats that a lot.

Speaker C:

So for me, this was like, a good balance of, like, the lyricism in this and the sound.

Speaker C:

Because, like, it.

Speaker C:

It works well for me, but it's.

Speaker C:

It's a lot of.

Speaker C:

It's a lot of the music.

Speaker C:

So, like, it just.

Speaker A:

It feel.

Speaker C:

It feels like big feelings, right?

Speaker C:

Especially when the.

Speaker C:

The music swells after the bridge into, like, the outro, which is just pretty much like a repetition of.

Speaker C:

Of the line.

Speaker C:

It's like the sun came out, but it.

Speaker C:

It's like growing and growing and growing, and it's swelling and becoming so big, which I thought is so perfect because it kind of plays into that.

Speaker C:

The lines from the verses of, like, I'm so teeny tiny, I don't matter at all.

Speaker C:

Like, I'm just looking in this vast sea of everything else.

Speaker C:

And my voice is just a whisper louder than the screams you hear.

Speaker C:

So it's like someone comes in to, like, hone in and amplifies your voice or your meaning or anything like that.

Speaker C:

So I thought this is me just, like, analyzing the lyrics now.

Speaker C:

But.

Speaker C:

But to me, like, that.

Speaker C:

That feels very kind of true to Buck in some ways.

Speaker C:

Like, I.

Speaker C:

I feel like sometimes he feels kind of small.

Speaker C:

He feels very alone at times, and he's just kind of like, you know, floating around, trying to look for meaning.

Speaker C:

That's why.

Speaker C:

That's why he ends up on these hamster wheels where, like, some.

Speaker C:

Someone gives him attention and he's like, okay, you choose me, so I choose you.

Speaker C:

But it still isn't, like, quite enough.

Speaker C:

So this was kind of resonated for that for me.

Speaker C:

And I also really liked with the outro, the way, like, the incorporation of, like, the organ as.

Speaker C:

As it's getting, like, really, really big towards the end of, like, into the end of the song.

Speaker C:

It's, like almost biblical or religious, like, sense to it.

Speaker C:

And it just.

Speaker C:

Like, this is.

Speaker C:

This is the biggest thing in your life.

Speaker C:

Like, you felt.

Speaker C:

Felt so small earlier, but now you found that other atom to combine, which would be Eddie.

Speaker C:

And it's like.

Speaker C:

It's like the sun came out.

Speaker C:

It's like everything.

Speaker C:

Everything is the way it should be.

Speaker A:

I hope he has a happy feelings realization.

Speaker A:

I don't think it's gonna be, but I would like for it to be.

Speaker A:

I don't think it's gonna be like.

Speaker C:

This is kind of habit.

Speaker C:

It's.

Speaker C:

It's got, like, a almost mournful undertone, but, like, it.

Speaker C:

There's a lot of weight to it, I think, instead of like a.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It's like.

Speaker A:

Well, it's like, epicness.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

It's like, oh.

Speaker A:

Oh.

Speaker C:

That'S.

Speaker C:

That's what that song feels like to me.

Speaker C:

I hope that made sense.

Speaker A:

We've got to move on to our guy.

Speaker B:

That guy.

Speaker A:

That guy.

Speaker B:

Oh, it's.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker A:

It's.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

We're going to talk about Eddie's feeling.

Speaker A:

Feeling, feeling, feelings.

Speaker A:

Realization.

Speaker C:

He has one feeling at a time.

Speaker A:

He tries to have no feelings.

Speaker A:

He do be trying.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker B:

So for my boy Eddie, I picked two songs for him.

Speaker B:

Originally, I was searching for a Spanish song.

Speaker B:

Couldn't find it.

Speaker B:

And then I was like, oh, let me go on my buddy espanol.

Speaker B:

Well, I.

Speaker B:

I had gone there.

Speaker B:

I was like, I'm not gonna use this song.

Speaker B:

And then I thought about it.

Speaker B:

I was like, actually, maybe I will use this song.

Speaker B:

So my Gemini jumped out.

Speaker B:

Anyway, so for the first one, I have Fire on Fire by Sam Smith.

Speaker C:

Ooh.

Speaker B:

And honestly, that's a really good one.

Speaker B:

Honestly, it was really funny because it just started playing.

Speaker B:

I don't.

Speaker B:

I don't think this one has a specific scenario.

Speaker B:

When I picked this one, I think when the song first opened, it says, my mother said I'm too romantic.

Speaker B:

I was like, okay, all right.

Speaker B:

Keep going, Keep going.

Speaker B:

And then it goes.

Speaker B:

She said, you're dancing in the movies.

Speaker B:

I almost started to believe her.

Speaker B:

Then I saw you, and I knew.

Speaker B:

I don't know, like, it.

Speaker B:

It gave me, like, you know, the whole, like, repression kind of.

Speaker B:

Some kind of, like, repression.

Speaker B:

That might not be the interpretation of it, but, like, that's what it gave me.

Speaker B:

And then.

Speaker C:

Oh, I like that, though.

Speaker B:

And, you know, because the whole ballroom dancing thing.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

The dancing being equating to joy, and it's like.

Speaker B:

And like, saying someone that, oh, you're too romantic, like, that already gave me the Helena vibes already.

Speaker C:

So I was like, no, I get.

Speaker C:

I.

Speaker C:

I get where you're going with that.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Then I saw you, and I knew.

Speaker B:

Maybe it's because I got a little bit older.

Speaker B:

Maybe it's all that I've been through.

Speaker B:

I'd like to think it's how you lean on my shoulder and how I see myself with you.

Speaker B:

So how he sees himself with Buck.

Speaker B:

Buck equals joy.

Speaker A:

And he likes himself when he's with Buck.

Speaker B:

And he likes himself with Buck.

Speaker C:

Oh, my God.

Speaker B:

I don't say a word but still you take my breath and seal the things I know There you go Saving me from out of the cold Ooh.

Speaker C:

I love this pick.

Speaker A:

It's a really good one.

Speaker B:

Fire on fire would normally kill us, but this much desire together, we're winners.

Speaker B:

I think about them, like, being partners.

Speaker B:

They're, you know, they are winners when they're together.

Speaker B:

They are.

Speaker B:

They.

Speaker B:

They work so well together.

Speaker B:

They say that.

Speaker B:

They say that we're out of control.

Speaker B:

And some say we're sinners.

Speaker B:

But don't let them ruin our beautiful rhythms.

Speaker B:

Because when you unfold me and tell me you love me and look in my eyes, you are perfection.

Speaker B:

My only direction.

Speaker B:

It's fire on fire.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

After listening to it, because I haven't heard the song.

Speaker B:

I haven't heard this song in a while, I was like, I need to make an edit to this.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I was gonna say, where's the edit?

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker A:

The full edit, like, because the whole song.

Speaker B:

Yeah, because, like, then the.

Speaker B:

The next verse is like, when we fight, we fight like lions, but when we love and feel the truth anyway, it's.

Speaker A:

Yeah, the whole thing is so them.

Speaker C:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God.

Speaker B:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker B:

So I think.

Speaker B:

I think this, like, this would be like a.

Speaker B:

Like a feelings realization or like, kind of like.

Speaker B:

Like a retrospective of, like, you know, going from, you know, all that repression and then being like, okay, I am happier with you.

Speaker B:

We are better together.

Speaker B:

We are better if we even move into that next step of that relationship.

Speaker B:

You know, that kind of stuff.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

Yeah, that's why I picked that one.

Speaker C:

Oh, that's so good.

Speaker C:

Kind of.

Speaker C:

Kind of like with a realization, and he's like, everything from the past is getting re.

Speaker C:

Recontextualized.

Speaker C:

Framed.

Speaker B:

Ooh, Yeah.

Speaker C:

I love that.

Speaker B:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

It's very good.

Speaker B:

Okay, my second pick.

Speaker B:

Oh, God.

Speaker B:

I say oh, God.

Speaker B:

Because, like, listen, I am fluent in Spanish, but sometimes I think I'm going to lose so much of.

Speaker B:

Of the translation and.

Speaker B:

And maybe it's not the way it should have been translated, because sometimes I can translate it literally or translate it, like, very loosely.

Speaker B:

I think it's going to be a very literal translation.

Speaker B:

So bear with me.

Speaker B:

If there are Spanish speakers out there, I'm sorry for butchering this.

Speaker B:

Anyway, and you guys were fighting about how, like, oh, whose song is older?

Speaker B:

This song came out in:

Speaker C:

Oh, nice.

Speaker B:

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker B:

Okay, so it's called no me Loy Porvencido.

Speaker B:

By Luis Fonsi.

Speaker B:

So translation of the title is basically, I don't give up.

Speaker B:

So I think this is more.

Speaker B:

This one is more scenario based.

Speaker B:

Because I think the way I pictured it based on the lyrics, which I will read out, is I think Eddie has finally accepted that he's in love with Buck.

Speaker B:

Or, like, you know, he realized he's in love with Buck and that he wants to be with him because that's his joy.

Speaker B:

So, like, some of.

Speaker B:

Some of the things that, like, stand out to me, I guess I can do the Spanish and then try to translate it in English.

Speaker B:

So in Spanish, it's cuando menos de los peras?

Speaker B:

Cuando menos lo y mahinas.

Speaker B:

So when you least expect it, when I least imagine it, seque undia no me e cuanto y voy y temero I know one day I can't resist and I look at you.

Speaker C:

And I.

Speaker B:

Tell you loudly, which is, you know, I'll.

Speaker B:

I.

Speaker B:

One day I will say it out loud.

Speaker B:

I will say it out loud.

Speaker B:

One day I will, you know, I will want to say that I want to be with you.

Speaker B:

So the chorus goes, yo no me doy porvencido I don't give up yo quiero un mundo contego I want a world with you I swear it's worth waiting and waiting Waiting for a sigh Una senhal del destino A sign from destiny.

Speaker B:

So, like, that's got all the.

Speaker A:

The buddy catnip buzzwords for me.

Speaker B:

I love when it's like.

Speaker A:

It's like, I'll wait for you we're worth the wait and, like, we're made for destiny together.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And it's funny that I would pick this because, like, this man does not believe in the universe or whatever, but I think, like, once he actually, like, accepts, I feel like that's part of it, right?

Speaker B:

Like, yeah, he doesn't.

Speaker B:

Like, currently in canon, he doesn't believe in signs or whatever, but, like, if there's one thing he does, he's.

Speaker B:

He believes in Buck.

Speaker B:

You know, maybe his belief in the.

Speaker C:

Universe is just repressed like everything else.

Speaker A:

Well, I mean, he was looking for a sign in season two.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Which proves my point.

Speaker C:

Like, it didn't work out well.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

If there's someone that he's gonna try with and if there's someone that he's going to actually start believing in, like, oh, yeah, joy and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker B:

All that flowery kind of stuff.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It'll be for Buck.

Speaker B:

It'll be for Buck, I think this is the second verse, so.

Speaker B:

Okay, this one bear with me.

Speaker B:

Because, like, obviously we have pronouns in here.

Speaker B:

So it says tengunas, I have a flower in my pocket.

Speaker B:

Whether from looking for a woman who loves me which honestly withered.

Speaker B:

Really like the Shannon of it all.

Speaker C:

Oof.

Speaker B:

You know, the divorce of it all.

Speaker B:

But really it's really him, like, not being enough and all of that.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I was gonna say, is it like representative of like, hope?

Speaker A:

Because hope is withering, trying to find the right person.

Speaker B:

So it keeps going and it teaches me what I didn't learn from life.

Speaker B:

Quebria mascada dia so like it.

Speaker B:

So it starts off with this flower that's like, you know, like withered.

Speaker B:

And then the lyrics transition into like, that it shines more.

Speaker B:

So like Gabriel Mascaria, that shines more every day.

Speaker B:

Porque estoy tan solo de gan la ligrea Because I'm so close to winning Joy.

Speaker C:

Stop.

Speaker B:

Yeah, stop.

Speaker B:

Uh huh.

Speaker A:

To my near.

Speaker C:

No, that's perfect.

Speaker C:

Take notes.

Speaker C:

So close to winning Joy.

Speaker C:

Mm.

Speaker B:

I know that one.

Speaker B:

That's what really got me.

Speaker B:

I think I was like, listen, I was on my way to work.

Speaker B:

I was listening to it because I was like thinking, I want to make a span at like an Eddie Spanish Eddie buddy edit.

Speaker B:

And I can't find.

Speaker B:

And this song popped up.

Speaker C:

That's a good one.

Speaker B:

I mean, continuing on, it just says.

Speaker B:

Because the heart raises a furious storm the second momento san que te vi from the moment I saw you Then it continues the chorus, which is like, I don't give up I want a world with you I swear it's worth waiting I and waiting and waiting for a site a sign from destiny I love this.

Speaker B:

Then it says so I don't give up this silence hides too many words I don't stop Whatever happens I'll continue.

Speaker B:

So again, like, it's really just like.

Speaker B:

I think once he finally accepts that joy, he is going to.

Speaker B:

I feel like he's going to pursue.

Speaker B:

That's really how I would imagine it would play out.

Speaker B:

Like if he does have his feelings realization.

Speaker B:

So I really think the song really ties into that.

Speaker B:

And he would pursue him because.

Speaker B:

Because that's what he wants.

Speaker B:

He's finally doing something for himself and he's so close to getting that joy.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

I think I did it.

Speaker C:

You did it.

Speaker A:

He did.

Speaker A:

That's a really good choice.

Speaker A:

But those are both great choices.

Speaker C:

Those are awesome.

Speaker C:

No, but I totally see what you mean about like, once.

Speaker C:

Once he realizes it's just gonna Be like full throttle.

Speaker C:

Basically.

Speaker A:

Like brand new full throttle.

Speaker C:

Let's go.

Speaker B:

It's gotta.

Speaker C:

Mm.

Speaker B:

I'm done playing over here, guys.

Speaker B:

It's gotta.

Speaker A:

I'm so sorry.

Speaker A:

I have two picks again.

Speaker A:

I think it's the last time I have two picks where I'm talking about lyrics.

Speaker A:

I did have two depressing ones.

Speaker A:

I got rid of one of the depressing ones.

Speaker A:

So you're welcome in advance.

Speaker A:

It's just because one of them was Billie Eilish again.

Speaker A:

And I was like, billie Eilish, I love you by Billie Eilish.

Speaker A:

Oh, and that was a situation based one because I was like, oh, if they have Buck confess and Eddie just says nothing, this will be good.

Speaker C:

Dastardly.

Speaker C:

That is depressing though.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Anyway, so moving on to, I guess slightly less depressing.

Speaker A:

I'm pretty sure still knows this because she made an edit to this song for Destiel, I believe.

Speaker A:

I don't know if Rachel knows it though.

Speaker A:

It's Neptune by Sleeping at Last.

Speaker C:

I think I've seen your edit of that.

Speaker A:

So like, we've talked about how certain artists are like.

Speaker A:

We think of a lot of their songs are like this character.

Speaker A:

That character.

Speaker A:

Sleeping at Last is just like Eddie's like artist.

Speaker A:

Like they're 90, 95% songs are just Eddie.

Speaker A:

They're all Eddie.

Speaker A:

So like I had quite a few options of Sleeping at Last and I narrowed it down to this one.

Speaker A:

First verse is pitch black, pale blue.

Speaker A:

It was a stained glass variation of the truth and I felt empty handed.

Speaker A:

You let me set sail with cheap wood.

Speaker A:

So I patched up every leak that I could Till the blame grew too heavy.

Speaker A:

Stitch by stitch I tear apart.

Speaker A:

If brokenness is a form of art, I must be a poster child prodigy.

Speaker A:

I'm broken.

Speaker C:

That's so Eddie.

Speaker C:

Oh my God.

Speaker A:

Surely this must be my masterpiece.

Speaker A:

I'm only honest when it rains if I time it right, the thunder breaks When I open my mouth.

Speaker A:

I want to tell you but I don't know how.

Speaker C:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

An open book with a torn out page and my inks run out.

Speaker A:

I want to love you but I don't know how.

Speaker A:

Then we have it repeats.

Speaker A:

I don't know how.

Speaker A:

No, I don't know how.

Speaker A:

I want to love you but I don't know how.

Speaker C:

Nobody knows how to talk to you.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Then we have verse two.

Speaker A:

Pitch black, pale blue.

Speaker A:

These wild oceans shake what's left of me loose Just to hear me cry mercy.

Speaker A:

A strong wind at my back.

Speaker A:

So I lift up the only sail that I have.

Speaker A:

This Tired white flag.

Speaker A:

So he's like, surrendering kind of the way that I read this can be, like, either way, it can be like I'm giving up just, like, on myself or I'm giving up on trying to suppress all of this.

Speaker A:

That's how I'm choosing to look at it a little bit.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I was going to say.

Speaker A:

Then it just repeats the.

Speaker B:

The chorus.

Speaker A:

The chorus.

Speaker A:

I'm only honest when it rains When I open my mouth I want to tell you But I don't know how.

Speaker A:

Yeah, but it ends.

Speaker A:

I think it's important to note that the last lyric is just, I want to love you not.

Speaker A:

But I don't know how It's.

Speaker A:

I want to love you.

Speaker A:

So hopeful.

Speaker A:

I think it's so perfect for him because, like, I think I have.

Speaker A:

I have so many different songs and scenarios, but I think, like, overall, how I think the realizations are going to go.

Speaker A:

Buck is going to be before he knows that Eddie is gay.

Speaker A:

So it's gonna be, oh, no, terrible.

Speaker A:

And with Eddie, it's gonna be, oh, no, I'm not good for him.

Speaker A:

I would ruin that.

Speaker A:

I shouldn't touch that.

Speaker A:

That's what I think that's gonna be.

Speaker A:

And this.

Speaker A:

This song is such, like a.

Speaker A:

I'm broken because of all these things that happened to me and, like, yearning.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

Like, yearning for him and wanting to love him.

Speaker A:

But he's like, I don't know, like, I ruin every relationship that I touch.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's such a good one.

Speaker A:

So make another edit.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God, please, I need more.

Speaker B:

I need more content.

Speaker A:

I know, but, like, oh, God, if you, like Destiel.

Speaker A:

Syl made a Destiel edit to this, and it's like Dean's pov, obviously, and like, the Dean Eddie parallels.

Speaker B:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

Oh, crazy.

Speaker A:

But, like, yeah, if you watch it and you think about, like, the Eddie parallels while you watch the edit.

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

And I mean, just a little bit of background.

Speaker B:

I think when I made that edit, it was.

Speaker B:

Oh, God, it was literally two weeks before the finale.

Speaker B:

So it's like post Destiel confession.

Speaker B:

And like, for the entire season 15.

Speaker B:

I was thinking about how, like, I was about to call him Eddie.

Speaker B:

, this prayer scene in, like,:

Speaker B:

He has this prayer scene.

Speaker B:

So he's praying to Cass about, like, being sorry and all these other things that he hasn't been able to say to his face.

Speaker B:

And then, like, Cass finds him because, like, they were lost or whatever.

Speaker B:

And, like, Cass finds him, and then, like, Dean was, like, about to say something, but, like, Cass stops him because they're like, oh, no, I heard your prayer.

Speaker B:

It's fine.

Speaker B:

Whatever.

Speaker B:

Cool.

Speaker B:

Water under the bridge.

Speaker A:

Whatever.

Speaker B:

I remember talking about and never talking about anything.

Speaker B:

And then, like.

Speaker B:

hen the I love you happens in:

Speaker B:

I'm not saying reciprocate.

Speaker B:

I'm just saying words.

Speaker B:

Use your words, because there are words that need to be said.

Speaker B:

It didn't even have to be a reciprocation or anything.

Speaker B:

It was just like there were things that you could have said out.

Speaker B:

Out loud that, you know, that Cassiel probably needed to hear out loud, even though he says he doesn't need to.

Speaker B:

I spent a week making that edit, and then we got what we got in the finale.

Speaker B:

What an embarrassing time.

Speaker A:

Oh, God.

Speaker A:

Anyway, can we get back to politics?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Okay, so here's my less depressing option.

Speaker B:

Yay.

Speaker A:

It's by Christina Perry called Arms.

Speaker C:

Oh, my gosh.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So it's, like, average, still very much like Eddie, and there's a lot of that anxiety and fear there, but it's, like, hopeful.

Speaker C:

Oh, I love that.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So I never thought that you would be the one to hold my heart because, like, he didn't know that he was gay, but you came around and you knocked me off the ground from the start.

Speaker A:

Obviously.

Speaker A:

You put your arms around me and I believe that it's easier for you to let me go.

Speaker A:

You put your arms around me and I'm home.

Speaker A:

How many times will you let my change my mind and turn around?

Speaker A:

So it's like, how many times is Buck going to, like, put up with the stuff that Eddie doesn't let anyone else see?

Speaker A:

I can't decide if I'll let you save my life or if I'll drown.

Speaker A:

You could take that very literally.

Speaker A:

You could also take it very metaphorically.

Speaker A:

It's like, again, him opening up if he's going to continue to.

Speaker A:

To let fuck see these parts of him that he doesn't let anyone else see.

Speaker A:

I hope the chorus.

Speaker A:

I hope that you see right through my walls.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I hope that you catch me because I'm already falling.

Speaker A:

I'll never let our love get so close.

Speaker A:

You put your arms around me and I'm home.

Speaker A:

So it's very much like wanting to have them as close as possible and let all the walls down and feeling at home with that person, but being scared that they are going to, like, change their mind but that they are going to be too much and the person, like, won't want them.

Speaker C:

Like, it's so tenuous.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

This verse.

Speaker A:

Verse 3 is so Eddie to me.

Speaker A:

The world is coming down on me and I can't find a reason to be loved.

Speaker B:

Jesus.

Speaker A:

I'm not a person who deserves forgiveness.

Speaker B:

Or joy oh, my God.

Speaker A:

I never want to leave you But I can't make you bleed if I'm alone.

Speaker A:

So it's not only that he's scared of being rejected.

Speaker A:

I really think that Eddie's going to be more scared that he's going to hurt, that he.

Speaker A:

That what he thinks is wrong with him.

Speaker A:

That all that self hatred that he's going to, like, project is going to ruin.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Oh, my gosh.

Speaker A:

And then the bridge.

Speaker A:

I tried my best to never let you in to see the truth But I've never opened up I've never truly loved Till you put your arms around me like what the fuck?

Speaker C:

Oh, my God.

Speaker C:

Yeah, this is just Eddie through and through.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So I hadn't listened to the song in forever, and I think I listened to it sometime last month and I was like, this is the Eddie.

Speaker A:

This is like the Eddie, like the buddy song.

Speaker A:

This is the buddy song.

Speaker A:

Because you can look at it from, like, Buck's point of view, too.

Speaker A:

I think it's just way more.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Heavily Eddie to me, I think.

Speaker C:

Well, that's the thing too.

Speaker C:

Like, so much about their insecurities and.

Speaker C:

And stuff is very.

Speaker C:

Is different flavors of, like, the same thing.

Speaker C:

So a lot of these can go either way.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

But yeah, that's.

Speaker C:

That sounds.

Speaker C:

That sounds very Eddie.

Speaker C:

Good choice.

Speaker C:

All right, so mine is basic bitch.

Speaker C:

This is.

Speaker C:

This is my Taylor Swift pick for Eddie, and I chose Peace by Taylor Swift.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker C:

I think we all know it.

Speaker C:

We know it.

Speaker A:

We love it.

Speaker A:

It was on my list.

Speaker C:

It was okay.

Speaker C:

Was it one of the.

Speaker C:

Wait, was it?

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker C:

Awesome.

Speaker C:

So I.

Speaker C:

I do think that's really interesting, Hannah.

Speaker C:

I think we were, like, interpreting the same aspects.

Speaker C:

I mean, we all kind of interpret the same aspects very similarly.

Speaker C:

But, like, with your song choices, specifically about Eddie being so nervous about potentially messing things up or ruining Buck.

Speaker C:

I mean, so much of peace is about, like, as long as the danger is near and it's just around the corner, darling because it lives in me no, I could never give you peace like, like the world around them and Eddie's inner emotional landscape or whatever.

Speaker C:

Just like would it be enough if I could never give you peace like, am I enough?

Speaker C:

Would you still, like, accept this if, you know, if this is all I can offer.

Speaker C:

And I'm not saying, like, not saying it could be more, not saying it could be less, but, like, this is what it is and it's always going to be a little.

Speaker A:

A little.

Speaker C:

You know, for me, it's.

Speaker C:

It's not.

Speaker C:

All of the lyrics, like, fit perfectly perfectly.

Speaker C:

Or at least like, I just can't find a way to make it fit perfect.

Speaker C:

Perfectly perfectly.

Speaker C:

All of them fit great.

Speaker A:

That's why, listen, if it's on my list, all the lyrics fit perfectly.

Speaker C:

Excellent.

Speaker C:

Okay, great for.

Speaker C:

I mean, for me, it's like sometimes the lyric, some of the lyrics just like, stand out as, like, okay, yeah, well, we'll go with that.

Speaker C:

But like, I mean, come on with the lines.

Speaker C:

Like, you know, I'd swing with you for the fences, sit with you in the trends trenches, give you my wild, Give you a child.

Speaker C:

I mean, like, what more.

Speaker C:

That's Eddie literally giving.

Speaker C:

But Chris, in so many different ways, not just the will, but like we just saw in.

Speaker C:

In season 8 how he apologized with his grand gesture of like, here's our kid here to make you happy.

Speaker C:

Sorry.

Speaker C:

And just like being.

Speaker C:

Being there with them through it all.

Speaker C:

Like, I will be with you through everything thick and thin.

Speaker C:

But I can only offer this much because I'm probably going to ruin it.

Speaker C:

Like, like the rain is always going to come if you're standing with me.

Speaker C:

Like that is that.

Speaker C:

Is Eddie kind of like catastrophizing a little bit.

Speaker C:

But the way it sounds too, this is one of those songs that just like it.

Speaker C:

It feels something in me.

Speaker C:

And it's funny because, like, I didn't previously, like, gravitate to this song so much like listening to.

Speaker C:

To Taylor's songs or folklore in particular.

Speaker C:

But those editors, man, there was.

Speaker C:

There was this one actually.

Speaker C:

There's a couple edits that I've seen that, that are really fantastic.

Speaker C:

But there's this one from the Hum Forever where it was just taking the, like the instrumental prelude to this song where it's like that weird, droney, like clicky.

Speaker C:

I don't really know how to fully describe it, but it's like a doo doo doo doo doo doo.

Speaker C:

And just like flipping back and forth between the parallels of fucking Eddie saying goodbye at the u haul in 8, 10 to the.

Speaker C:

You can have my back, you can have mine and 201.

Speaker C:

Just like flipping back with that instrumental.

Speaker C:

And I didn't realize it was peace at first, and I swear I Think that.

Speaker C:

I think I saw that in March.

Speaker C:

I have not stopped thinking about, like, so.

Speaker C:

So now I keep reaching for peace, sonically, because of that.

Speaker C:

Like, that.

Speaker C:

The.

Speaker C:

The way it's so, like, you know, it is.

Speaker C:

It is kind of tenuous.

Speaker C:

There's.

Speaker C:

There's a little.

Speaker C:

There's like, a lack of steadiness there because of that duality of.

Speaker C:

Of the beats in that way, and.

Speaker A:

It'S just very purposeful.

Speaker C:

Oh, no, I know.

Speaker A:

I'm.

Speaker C:

I'm saying it's.

Speaker C:

I'm saying it's purposeful, but, like, that, I think, lends to Eddie a little bit in.

Speaker C:

In the sense.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker A:

Discordance.

Speaker C:

The discordance.

Speaker C:

Thank you.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

And just kind of like, it.

Speaker C:

It doesn't quite let you settle your.

Speaker C:

Settle your feet.

Speaker C:

Like.

Speaker C:

Like, get.

Speaker C:

Get a.

Speaker C:

Get a good footing.

Speaker A:

Rather.

Speaker C:

It's always.

Speaker C:

It's always going to be a little tenuous to use for the third time.

Speaker C:

Sorry.

Speaker C:

But that's what I have for Eddie.

Speaker B:

Yay.

Speaker A:

It's.

Speaker A:

It's a very, very good song for Eddie.

Speaker A:

I think it's good for Buck, too.

Speaker A:

But, like.

Speaker C:

And it's good for, like, both of them together.

Speaker A:

But it is.

Speaker A:

I think what make makes me throw it into Eddie is verse two, and not just, like, the.

Speaker A:

Not just the.

Speaker A:

I gave you a child.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

The rest of it, too.

Speaker A:

It's the.

Speaker A:

Your integrity makes me seem small.

Speaker A:

You paint dreamscapes on the wall.

Speaker A:

So it's like.

Speaker A:

Because Buck is just so, like, big and bright and good to him.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

And he doesn't feel like he can measure up to it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Because Buck is larger than life.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Especially to Eddie.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And then, like, family that I chose now that I see your brother as my brother, so it's like he chose the 118.

Speaker A:

And Maddie, you know, I forgot to mention that, too.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

The rain is always gonna come if you're standing with me.

Speaker C:

Mm.

Speaker C:

It's kind of interesting that both of my picks, though, talk about, like, I.

Speaker C:

I look at you, and it's like the sun came out and then, like, I'd give you my sunshine Give you my best and it's just like, so much of.

Speaker A:

Well, I mean, it's a realization, so.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It is like the sun coming through the clouds.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

These guys should kiss, and these are the songs in which they should do that, too.

Speaker A:

Kissing, fucking, marrying.

Speaker C:

Mine's just like a general, like, being together, getting together, so.

Speaker A:

And I'm not digging into lyrics for, like, these are, you know, these songs.

Speaker A:

These are the vibes yeah, actually, that's a lie.

Speaker A:

I'll read a couple lines from the Hozier one.

Speaker A:

Oh, I was, like, wondering if we were all gonna say the same song for this.

Speaker B:

Probably not.

Speaker A:

I guess not.

Speaker A:

Because if everyone had one Taylor Swift thing and you both already said yours.

Speaker B:

So for their buddy first kiss or getting together, I have.

Speaker B:

We Go Down Together by Dove, Cameron and.

Speaker B:

And Khalid.

Speaker B:

So I think, honestly, I think it's like two things.

Speaker B:

I think for the drama.

Speaker B:

I don't really know, like, what kind of scenario I'm thinking, but I think it's like that the, like, I think the feelings that you get when you listen to this song is like, it's like drama finally getting, I guess, getting together.

Speaker B:

And I just picture, like, sometimes I think it's because, like, I, I kind of want their first kiss.

Speaker B:

Like, could be like, post NDE or like, like, I, I, I don't think I really want that correction.

Speaker B:

I know my answer could change because.

Speaker C:

I was like, I don't think I.

Speaker B:

Really want, like, a soft, gentle moment.

Speaker A:

I was like, you're literally on record saying the opposite thing.

Speaker C:

This is just today's vibe for this song.

Speaker B:

Like, I mean, if, if the scenario is like, post NDE and like, I don't know what.

Speaker B:

Who's nd, but like, even if it's just the instrumental, like, I think just like that, that I think there's like a.

Speaker B:

I don't know how to describe music.

Speaker B:

I used to take classes for musical theory and now I completely forgot.

Speaker B:

Is it a crescendo when it crescendo?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

When it gets bigger?

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

So like, there's like, you know, there's like that, that rising or like the crescendo where, where it just kind of like, again, it's really the drama.

Speaker B:

It's the vibes.

Speaker B:

But lyric.

Speaker A:

Is there like a big drop?

Speaker A:

Because that's a thing too.

Speaker A:

When there's like, Taylor does it in almost every single song where she does that really quiet part and then goes like.

Speaker A:

Gets big again.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

Call that a drop.

Speaker B:

It's not a drop.

Speaker B:

It's more or less like it'll just continue.

Speaker B:

And it's just like mostly instrumental, but it's like, oh.

Speaker A:

Then gets bigger and that's a crescendo.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

But some of the lyrics that I highlighted was like, if we go down, we go down together Then we go down together if you hold on I might just stay forever if you get hurt, I'll try to make it better if you go down Then we go down together Part of the first verse is, Am I really mine?

Speaker B:

Are you really yours?

Speaker B:

If all your emotions cut straight to my core Times where you cry I feel it all Whenever you leave me I wait for your call oh, and you are everything I'm living for and then it goes into the.

Speaker B:

If you go down, we go down together.

Speaker B:

We stay together, we make it better, you know, and so forth.

Speaker B:

It feels more like.

Speaker B:

Like really, like, you know, their first kiss is going to be like, kind of like that climax of, like, them finally getting together and like, all the things that they went through, like, just finally.

Speaker B:

We're just finally there.

Speaker A:

There.

Speaker B:

That's it.

Speaker A:

Like, that's.

Speaker B:

I guess it really was based on vibes, honestly.

Speaker B:

And I think.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So I think this one kind of does have to be.

Speaker A:

Because it's like the first kiss can be so many different.

Speaker C:

Different ways.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Because, like, I go back and forth.

Speaker B:

I'm like, oh, I want it in the kitchen.

Speaker B:

And then I'm like.

Speaker B:

Or maybe like after their.

Speaker B:

Yeah, after an nd and they were.

Speaker B:

They're fighting like someone did something stupid or someone was really risky.

Speaker B:

And it's like, okay.

Speaker B:

Like, finally that tension builds up and they're like, oh, my God, fudge it.

Speaker B:

Like, grabs.

Speaker B:

Grabs one of.

Speaker B:

I don't know who's gonna do it.

Speaker B:

They grab face.

Speaker B:

Smush lips.

Speaker A:

Done.

Speaker B:

Easy.

Speaker B:

Come on, guys.

Speaker A:

Gotta be Eddie.

Speaker B:

It's gotta be like.

Speaker A:

It's gotta be Eddie.

Speaker A:

Unless he's already come out.

Speaker A:

Cause I just don't think Buck's doing that without, like, it really does have, I feel, like, signs of that he would be even open to enjoying that.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Because he would be, like, keeping internalizing so much of it still.

Speaker C:

And then Eddie would be on his, like, I love juice train and just, like, go for it.

Speaker C:

Right?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I did have, like, some more lyrics highlighted.

Speaker B:

So the second verse starts with.

Speaker B:

Sometimes we're right Sometimes we're wrong Sometimes the lines just never been drawn Nights where we fight we strike a chord and then we forget what we've been fighting for So I think about, like, think about the kitchen scene a lot.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Always on repeat.

Speaker B:

Anyway.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

My choice is gonna shock absolutely no one.

Speaker A:

We've talked about this on the podcast before.

Speaker A:

Anyway, it's dressed by Taylor Swift because it's the only option I.

Speaker A:

The only option for me.

Speaker A:

Well, actually, we can do photograph again.

Speaker A:

I know that's an unpopular opinion.

Speaker C:

I like it for that.

Speaker C:

But, like, I am so on the dress agenda with you.

Speaker A:

The dress agenda in the Kitchen, on the couch.

Speaker A:

Whatever it is, the lyrically and vibes, it's so perfect.

Speaker A:

Our secret moments in a crowded room they got no idea about me and you there's an indentation in the shape of you you made your mark on me a golden tattoo.

Speaker A:

All of the silence and patience Pining the anticipation My hands are shaking from holding back from you Right.

Speaker A:

Say my name and everything just stops.

Speaker A:

I don't want you like a best friend Done only bought this dress so you could take it off.

Speaker A:

Carve your name into my bedpost Because I don't want you like a best friend.

Speaker A:

Listen, everything about this, I have such a perfect vision for how this needs to go.

Speaker A:

And it has to be the drop, right?

Speaker A:

I want it playing either just, like, instrumentally with no lyrics or just, like, so quiet that you can barely hear the lyrics building up.

Speaker A:

And it needs to be building up to the part where she says, say my name and everything just stops and the music stops and do a prolonged stop.

Speaker C:

Yes, yes, yes.

Speaker A:

And I need to hear, like, them say each other's names, right?

Speaker A:

And as we get that.

Speaker A:

And we get that in fic all the time, right?

Speaker A:

Where they're, like, like, staring at each other, and it's like that charged moment, and it's like, like, what are we doing, Eddie?

Speaker A:

And he's like, buck.

Speaker C:

And then, like, something shifts.

Speaker A:

I don't want you like a best friend.

Speaker A:

The music comes back and they kiss.

Speaker A:

Come on.

Speaker C:

That moment where something shifts.

Speaker C:

Yeah, it's just like, oh, we're doing.

Speaker A:

This in the kitchen.

Speaker A:

Push them up against the counter on the couch.

Speaker A:

I don't fucking care.

Speaker A:

You could do it after an ending.

Speaker A:

I don't fucking care.

Speaker A:

You could do this out on the field.

Speaker A:

Literally.

Speaker A:

Actually, it works anywhere.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

No, they come back to Eddie's house after an nde.

Speaker C:

So then you get that it's already charged.

Speaker B:

Continuation the car ride is silent.

Speaker B:

Yeah, everyone's just, like, kind of angry.

Speaker C:

Every time I think about dress and buddy, like, that gives me butterflies in my tummy.

Speaker C:

It's still.

Speaker A:

It's so perfect, inescapable.

Speaker A:

I'm not even gonna try.

Speaker A:

And if I get burned, at least we were electrified.

Speaker A:

I mean, even in my worst, already, you could see the best in me.

Speaker A:

Flashback to my mistakes, my rebounds, my earthquakes.

Speaker A:

Even in my worst lies, you saw the truth in me and I woke up just in time.

Speaker A:

Now I wake up by your side My one and only, my life.

Speaker A:

Literally, they're both each other's lifelines.

Speaker C:

Literally.

Speaker A:

Like, I know they're never Gonna do it, but they should do it.

Speaker C:

I'm gonna start crying.

Speaker C:

It's too perfect.

Speaker A:

Like, I know that will turn it into an edit no matter what, but, like, come on.

Speaker A:

Anyway, that's done.

Speaker C:

That's why I didn't.

Speaker C:

That's why I didn't choose it, because I was like, hands got this.

Speaker C:

Hands got this.

Speaker A:

Very passionate about it.

Speaker C:

I'm like your second in command on you're my general.

Speaker C:

The buddy dress agenda.

Speaker C:

Like, oh, 100.

Speaker C:

No, like, that's one of those things where, like, the lyrics perfect and just the vibes incredible.

Speaker A:

And it's got a good drop moment, like, just built into it for, like, where that, like, tension builds up and then it's just perfect.

Speaker A:

Anyway, what did you pick?

Speaker C:

You guys are gonna laugh at me.

Speaker A:

I can't wait.

Speaker C:

I chose Fireproof by One Direction.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker C:

That's just what I was feeling today.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker C:

Yeet me out of the.

Speaker B:

I've never heard this song.

Speaker B:

I was not a directioner.

Speaker C:

Would you like to.

Speaker A:

I cannot describe to you the part of me that will shrivel up and die if I have to see Buddy's first kiss to a fucking.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker B:

I'm looking this up.

Speaker A:

Like, what is this?

Speaker C:

Okay, okay.

Speaker C:

Like, I have.

Speaker C:

I have not exactly like, a vision, but like, I have, okay, some ideas for it.

Speaker C:

I mean, obviously this is never going to get.

Speaker C:

I don't know.

Speaker C:

It's just.

Speaker C:

It came to me.

Speaker C:

Came to me in the moment.

Speaker C:

I was like, oh, yeah, you in a vision.

Speaker C:

Actually, no, I've just been thinking about it lately.

Speaker C:

Like, so this.

Speaker C:

Yeah, basic bitch pop girly over here.

Speaker C:

Like, hello.

Speaker C:

But like, it's.

Speaker C:

It's mostly like the.

Speaker C:

The lyrics of the chorus.

Speaker C:

It's like.

Speaker C:

Because nobody knows you, baby the way I do Nobody loves you and it's been so long it's been so long maybe you were fireproof because nobody saves me the way you do.

Speaker C:

And the two verses start very similarly.

Speaker C:

It's like the first one says, I think I'm gonna lose my mind Something deep inside me I can't give up I think I'm gonna lose my mind I roll and I roll till I'm out of luck and then the second verse says, I think I'm going to win this time Riding on the win and I won't give up and I think I'm going to win this time I roll and I roll Until I change my luck to me that's kind of like, you know, like Buck and Eddie's.

Speaker C:

Them trying different things and.

Speaker C:

And still Having no luck or not even trying different things.

Speaker A:

It's.

Speaker C:

It's the same thing.

Speaker C:

They're on the same hamster.

Speaker C:

They're on their own hamster wheels.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker C:

It's the same stuff over and over again.

Speaker C:

But like, this time might be different with them because it's been so long and they know each other so well and they must.

Speaker C:

I mean, there's the lit, the stupid literal.

Speaker C:

Like, of course they're fireproof.

Speaker C:

They're fire firefighters, and.

Speaker C:

And their turnouts are literally fireproof.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker C:

But the fact that they've been through so much together and it's been so long, like, it's like it's leading up to something.

Speaker C:

Must be fireproof.

Speaker C:

So that's kind of how it ties in.

Speaker C:

Lyrically for me, it's mostly just like the vibes of the song, I think.

Speaker C:

I think it's kind of cheeky.

Speaker C:

Most half of me did it for the lulz, honestly, because I was like, you guys are going to laugh or hate me or both.

Speaker C:

But like, the way I could see it, quote unquote, realistically, like, if.

Speaker C:

If this were to be used in a.

Speaker C:

In a scenario where they get together, I would want it to be like a stripped back version of it.

Speaker C:

Like on a slower tempo, maybe with lyrics, maybe instrumental, like, you know, Allah.

Speaker C:

Like the Bridgerton covers, where it's.

Speaker C:

Where it's modern music in like a classical composition or just like a really, you know, like stripped back kind of.

Speaker C:

Not necessarily acoustic.

Speaker C:

Because I think some of the.

Speaker C:

Some of the twinkly magic in there is in the production, but like.

Speaker C:

Like a different.

Speaker C:

Like a different way of.

Speaker C:

Of presenting the.

Speaker C:

The lyricism to it.

Speaker C:

I don't know.

Speaker C:

That's.

Speaker C:

That's kind of like slowed down, stripped back, maybe instrumental or like very soft lyrics being sung to it.

Speaker C:

You know, that's how I can see it in my head.

Speaker C:

That's how I excused this choice.

Speaker C:

Thank you and good night.

Speaker B:

You're gonna make.

Speaker B:

You're gonna make the.

Speaker B:

Our one Directioner listeners very happy.

Speaker A:

Maybe.

Speaker C:

Who are you?

Speaker C:

Please talk to me.

Speaker A:

Moving on to the first Bachika.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

Songs.

Speaker A:

We will not be elaborating on these.

Speaker B:

I might say, like a thing.

Speaker A:

But yeah, I.

Speaker A:

I mean, I think I will read a couple lyrics from Mosier, but like, I don't.

Speaker A:

It's mostly the vibe.

Speaker A:

Listen to them.

Speaker A:

They sound sexy.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

So I picked.

Speaker B:

I picked Borders.

Speaker B:

Borders.

Speaker B:

I picked Borders by Zayn.

Speaker B:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

I don't know that song.

Speaker A:

I just know Zayn makes horny songs.

Speaker C:

Zane.

Speaker B:

Yeah, that Zane that's in.

Speaker C:

Oh, from what direction, Zane?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Yeah, that one.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Cool.

Speaker A:

The solo music is okay.

Speaker A:

Rachel.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

The scene would have been okay.

Speaker B:

I'm just kidding.

Speaker B:

I'm done.

Speaker B:

I'm done ragging on Rachel over here anyway.

Speaker A:

And sync songs on here.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker C:

So no, it would have been Jonas brothers otherwise.

Speaker A:

I'm just gonna leave it.

Speaker B:

Let's just.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

We're gonna go continue.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker B:

So part of the lyrics that I highlighted that really stood out to me.

Speaker B:

And honestly, this is probably the only section I would do an edit or the only section that I would picture them doing.

Speaker B:

The bound chickle.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker B:

At is they don't know what I know how long I've had to hold you're like a commotion all because of me.

Speaker B:

So take it off let's break down all of our walls Right now I want to see it all I don't want to cool off so let's cross the lines we lost right now I want to see it all.

Speaker B:

You were right on border.

Speaker B:

Give me all this.

Speaker B:

Give me all of you.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Anyway, so in true 911.

Speaker B:

In true 911 fashion, I mean, borders break down the walls.

Speaker B:

I've been obsessed with the walls between these two and 91 1.

Speaker B:

If they really wanted to pick the song and do it and to them doing it, I think it would be this.

Speaker B:

Because, like.

Speaker B:

No, but seriously, like, in a more like actual serious note, because of, like, the walls between them, finally the walls.

Speaker B:

The foundation and walls crumbling down and they finally do the do.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

That's it.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker B:

That's why I picked that song and the vibes.

Speaker B:

That's it.

Speaker C:

I like that.

Speaker A:

I have.

Speaker A:

I have three very quickly.

Speaker A:

Joan Jett, do you wanna touch me?

Speaker C:

I love that song.

Speaker A:

I think it would be a great, fun one if, like, they're waiting to have their first time and then they finally are like it.

Speaker A:

Like, I think it would be great.

Speaker A:

I wanna be yours by the arctic monkeys.

Speaker A:

It's just like a.

Speaker A:

Like a groovy kind of like, slow down beat.

Speaker A:

And literally the chorus is just like I wanna be yours over and over again.

Speaker A:

Oh, that is a good one.

Speaker A:

But we're gonna talk about is talk by Hozier.

Speaker C:

Yes, I was looking at that one too.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Talk by Hozier.

Speaker A:

There is, like an edit to this that I love, that I think all of us have watched and loved.

Speaker A:

Because, like, the beginning of it talks about, like, I'd be the voice that urged Orpheus when her body was bound.

Speaker A:

I'd be the Choiceless hope and grief that drove him underground I'd be the dreadful need in the devotee that made him turn around and it's Eddie turning around.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I'd be the immediate forgiveness and Eurydice.

Speaker A:

Imagine being loved by me Right.

Speaker C:

I remember watching this edit, and we were all just kind of like.

Speaker A:

Then the chorus is.

Speaker A:

I won't deny I've got in my mind now all the things I would do so I try to talk refined for fear that you find out how I'm imagining you like, it's.

Speaker A:

It's hosier.

Speaker A:

So it's, like, poetic but horny.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker C:

Yeah, that's his M.O.

Speaker A:

Is.

Speaker A:

You know, we've got some mythology in here, but, you know, make it sexy.

Speaker C:

Oh, yes.

Speaker A:

Those are the choices.

Speaker C:

I love those choices.

Speaker C:

I didn't.

Speaker C:

I just had those.

Speaker A:

It's okay.

Speaker B:

That's fine.

Speaker A:

We.

Speaker B:

We were.

Speaker B:

We just went.

Speaker B:

We were.

Speaker C:

We were like.

Speaker A:

I was looking for a kiss one, and I was like, these are a little past kissing, but still good.

Speaker A:

Syl.

Speaker A:

Bring us home.

Speaker B:

So I have a 5th secret option or category.

Speaker B:

5th secret category for I don't really know.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

What had happened here was that.

Speaker A:

What happened was.

Speaker B:

What had happened was.

Speaker B:

Was that I had this song in mind for, I think, them getting together.

Speaker B:

Not necessarily first kiss, but, like, I think just getting together.

Speaker B:

And then I found a different getting together song.

Speaker B:

And then I found another horny song, and then I was just like, you know, the secret fifth option.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker B:

The buddy proposal.

Speaker A:

Prob.

Speaker B:

Probably marriage proposal or actual wedding montage.

Speaker B:

So the song is called Woodwork by sleeping at last.

Speaker C:

Ooh.

Speaker C:

Oh, Hands, Eyes.

Speaker C:

Got just.

Speaker C:

Just got so big.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I literally cannot even see you guys.

Speaker B:

But yes.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

So some of the lyrics that stand out to me are.

Speaker B:

Our world caves in on us and makes us new.

Speaker B:

All of our love came out of the woodwork all of our strength came out of the woodwork we only notice light when the darkness crashes against it we only notice light deep in the woodwork I still hear the song as it rings beneath the sound of shattered glass in the aftermath the melody it carries on While we come undone and it makes us new Skipping down It's.

Speaker B:

It's a cruel, cruel trip how we often find ourselves when we lose everything else Like a train wreck the sound of your breathing hits my ears the world reappears and it breaks us new so I think it's kind of, like, lyrically and based on vibes and the melody of how it is.

Speaker B:

Like, I did picture this as them Getting together.

Speaker B:

But I guess it depends how.

Speaker B:

Like, obviously, like, I put it in this secret fifth option.

Speaker B:

And it really, like, speaks to.

Speaker B:

I think what I think about when.

Speaker B:

When I.

Speaker B:

I listen to the song is like, the whole.

Speaker B:

God, what are these old guys?

Speaker B:

The old gays names.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

From Thomas Mitchell.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

So I think about, like, the two older gays, Thomas and Mitchell.

Speaker B:

From Buck, actually.

Speaker C:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

And I forgot which one says it.

Speaker B:

Is it Thomas that.

Speaker C:

I always forget who is who in that one.

Speaker B:

Thomas.

Speaker B:

So, like, Buck is like, oh, I.

Speaker B:

I hope I can find something like that or something like, similar to that love.

Speaker A:

Like that.

Speaker B:

I love like that.

Speaker B:

And then Thomas says, you don't find it, son, you make it.

Speaker B:

And I think so, like, you know, I feel like their love.

Speaker B:

The love.

Speaker B:

Their love and the strength that comes out of that love.

Speaker B:

Like, I feel like that that was something that they made throughout all of the.

Speaker B:

All of those years.

Speaker B:

So, like, I guess if I picture it, like, maybe they could do, like, a montage to this song, like, all of their.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Moments.

Speaker A:

That's a good option.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

The song.

Speaker A:

The song that I thought of when you said Wedding was also a sleeping at last song.

Speaker A:

But it wasn't this one.

Speaker A:

It was Turning Page.

Speaker B:

I had that one on my list.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So this is one that's used at weddings a lot.

Speaker A:

I've had it on my buddy playlist, like, for a long time.

Speaker A:

I've waited a hundred years But I'd wait a million more for you Nothing prepared me for what the privilege of being yours would do.

Speaker A:

If I'd only felt the warmth within your touch.

Speaker A:

If I'd only seen how you smile when you blush or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough well, I would have known what I was living for all along.

Speaker A:

Your love is my turning page where only the sweetest words remain.

Speaker A:

Every kiss is a cursive line Every touch is a redefining phrase I surrender who I've been for who you are for nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart.

Speaker A:

And then it's the.

Speaker A:

If I'd only felt how it felt to be yours I would have known what I've been living for all along.

Speaker A:

And the verse, there's no, like, real chorus.

Speaker A:

Like, it says it's a chorus, but it doesn't repeat.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And then the end of the song is the fourth.

Speaker A:

Fourth verse.

Speaker A:

Though we're tethered to the story we must tell When I saw you while I knew we'd tell it well With a whisper we will tame the vicious Seas like a feather bringing kingdoms to their knees.

Speaker A:

I love it.

Speaker A:

Sleeping, alas, is just Buddy and Eddie fits.

Speaker B:

It is.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Special mention for, I think, all of.

Speaker B:

All of the categories.

Speaker B:

There's no lyrics to these songs, but, like, the.

Speaker B:

Are they a band?

Speaker B:

Explosions in the Sky.

Speaker B:

They're a band.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

So anything by Explosions from this in the sky is great for, like.

Speaker B:

They got me the drama.

Speaker A:

The.

Speaker A:

They're so good.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It's all instrumental.

Speaker B:

It's all instrumental so nicely.

Speaker A:

It's so beautiful.

Speaker B:

So good.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Oh, God.

Speaker B:

I.

Speaker B:

There's.

Speaker C:

Did you have, like, one in particular that you were drawn to?

Speaker B:

Your hand and mine?

Speaker A:

I think they went from making their own stuff to kind of exclusively doing movie soundtracks.

Speaker B:

Oh, interesting work on 91 1.

Speaker A:

They do.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

I really like your Hand in Mine.

Speaker A:

I think it's like their most.

Speaker B:

That's the popular one.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's my favorite album.

Speaker A:

It's the one from:

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place.

Speaker A:

Like anything from that album.

Speaker A:

Yeah, they did a lot of songs for Friday Night Lights.

Speaker B:

Another good song is again, also from that album, the Only Moment We Were Alone.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

So good.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Well, if you.

Speaker A:

If you like just vibes, it's great band.

Speaker C:

I love just vibe.

Speaker B:

If you want to paint and vibes, I would listen to that.

Speaker A:

It's.

Speaker A:

It's like epic movie background soundtrack.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Explosions in the Sky.

Speaker B:

But the album we're talking about is called the Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place.

Speaker B:

Oh, I.

Speaker B:

I put that on when I'm like reading like, fic and we get.

Speaker B:

You know, you get to those moments and you're like, okay, I gotta put this background music on.

Speaker A:

Ooh, I love.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I love their stuff.

Speaker A:

Okay, well, let us know what you think of our picks.

Speaker A:

Let us know what your picks would be.

Speaker C:

Yes, I wanna.

Speaker C:

I wanna know what.

Speaker C:

What other people.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Are thinking of too.

Speaker C:

Broaden.

Speaker C:

Broaden our horizon.

Speaker C:

Hands.

Speaker C:

Horizons are always.

Speaker C:

Are broad with music, but broaden my horizons.

Speaker A:

Hey, there were two songs you guys mentioned that I did not know.

Speaker A:

Well, I think I kind of vaguely.

Speaker A:

New year, Teen Wolf 1.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

It's been around.

Speaker C:

It's been around the block.

Speaker B:

I'm just over here trying to throw curveballs at everyone.

Speaker C:

No, I love it because they're like unexpected, but unexpected picks or unknown picks.

Speaker C:

But, like, those work perfectly.

Speaker C:

Everybody did a good job.

Speaker B:

Tim, I really need you to help me become a better editor by giving me the content that I need so I can do the fire on fire.

Speaker A:

Oh, my God.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker B:

Thanks.

Speaker A:

I started that.

Speaker A:

8 Sleeping at last.

Speaker A:

8 Edit in the mid after the mid season finale thinking that we were gonna get these Eddie like gay and feelings realization moments for me to finish the song.

Speaker A:

That's what the second half of the song is.

Speaker A:

And it's just still sitting at the song.

Speaker C:

It's ready.

Speaker C:

It's sitting there.

Speaker C:

It's waiting.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Anyway, this was so much fun.

Speaker A:

Thank you guys for humoring me for my birthday and hey, happy birthday.

Speaker A:

I'm sure we'll do more things like this.

Speaker A:

Let us if you liked it and if you didn't.

Speaker A:

Yeah, please don't tell me.

Speaker B:

Tell us if you like it.

Speaker B:

That's the only thing you're allowed to do.

Speaker C:

Tell us if you like it and tell us if you loved it.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker C:

And if you would like maybe another of these with like different picks or like different scenarios.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's going to be post season nine.

Speaker C:

Yeah, probably.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I think we have or during the mid season hiatus.

Speaker C:

Depends on what we get.

Speaker B:

We clown too much in mid seasons.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

We do.

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Can't do that.

Speaker C:

Bring that back that this is us you're talking about.

Speaker A:

Thank you so much for tuning in and hope you have a great fourth of July.

Speaker B:

Oh yeah.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

If you're American.

Speaker A:

If you're not, happy random weekend.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker C:

Happy whatever.

Speaker B:

Enjoy your your first week of July.

Speaker C:

Or Happy birthday to Steve.

Speaker B:

Roger.

Speaker C:

Southern hemisphere.

Speaker C:

Oh, Happy birthday to Steve Rogers.

Speaker B:

Happy birthday to Steve Rogers.

Speaker C:

There we go.

Speaker C:

Everybody can celebrate that.

Speaker A:

Hopefully.

Speaker B:

Maybe.

Speaker B:

And remember to take a buddy with you.
