It Was All a Fake Out (3x12: Fools)
Josh: Do you laugh about me whenever I leave?
Eddie: Or do I just need more therapy?
This week Han, Cil, and Rachel are your jesters as we juggle the solemn solos in Season 3 Episode 12 of 9-1-1, “Fools.”
Josh is single, and after a dinner as a co-third-wheel with Buck, Maddie, and Chimney, he decides he’s ready to mingle again. What should have been a promising return to the playing field turns into a waking nightmare in a graveyard. We discuss how the traumatizing events shakes Josh’s confidence and trust in his own instincts, thinking he missed the red flags (there were none.)
Eddie enters parent-teacher night at Christopher’s school more than a little apprehensive, but survives the deluge of puns just in time to make googoo eyes at Ms. Flores. The spark gets Swiftly snuffed out when Chris flies off the skateboard and Eddie flies off the handle. We explore how Eddie is once again projecting his own feelings of failure onto the most convenient target, taking the trust he was placing in her with Christopher and turning straight (lol) back to Buck. This is our shocked face, see how shocked?
Buck LISTENS to Eddie’s concerns and gives him good advice, that Eddie takes, as always, and they end the episode in domestic bliss with the modified skateboard they built for their child. Makes you feel almost nauseous with how sickeningly sweet it is, huh? With another crazy addition to Season 3’s co-parenting agenda, we talk about the purposeful setup of Buck as Christopher’s other parent and Eddie’s partner.
Saddle up for an especially impassioned Slow Burn segment where we review the evidence: Buck is a solo, Eddie is a super single widow, they spend all their time together, they co-parent Eddie’s child, and maybe, just maybe Eddie doesn’t actually like horses, he’d rather ride a certain cowboy.
